About us
ALSAC is the largest healthcare-related charity in the United States. Founded in 1957 by Danny Thomas, our sole mission is to raise the funds and awareness needed to operate and maintain St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®. While our headquarters can be found in Memphis, Tennessee, we have additional offices in more than 30 locations across the country and in Puerto Rico with positions in fundraising, marketing, digital, information technology, legal, finance and many other disciplines all supporting our lifesaving mission - Finding cures. Saving children. ® At ALSAC, we believe in hiring the best and brightest from around the globe, and in 2020 we were named #1 on Fast Company's 100 Best Workplaces for Innovators. With a concerted focus on diversity and inclusion, we value and respect the contributions of all of our employees. Our work environment encourages everyone to be their authentic selves as we strive together towards a day when “no child dies in the dawn of life.” As we look to the future, we understand that we must be relentlessly innovative. Our work helps fuel the groundbreaking research and treatment at St. Jude and ensures that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. The "ultimate Independence Day." On July 4, 2010, St. Jude patient Tess celebrated the completion of 18 months of intensive treatment for stage IV high-risk neuroblastoma with a No More Chemo party – a day her mom describes as their family's "ultimate Independence Day." Though Tess is now 18 years old and cancer-free, she and her family continue to fundraise for the St. Jude mission through fitness events.

👋 Meet Nicole R. Harris, our Advisor - DEIB Strategic Relationships and whose time at ALSAC began in 2018, as part of her over 13-year career in Communications. Beginning her ALSAC journey in Marketing, Nicole has grown her passion for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging in part through being a co-chair of the LGBTQIA+ Employees and Allies Resource Group. Her contributions towards this year’s Pride Month celebration included planning and leading the EARG’s joint participation in the 2024 Mid-South Pride Parade & Festival with the St. Jude PRIDE EARG, leading the design efforts for unique merchandise to commemorate this year’s Pride and co-leading the launch of ALSAC's first Inclusive Restroom. In an interview, we asked her: what is most rewarding about serving your fellow colleagues as an EARG co-chair? I have, unfortunately, worked at places that did not encourage inclusion and belonging. Working at ALSAC and having the ability to not only be myself but also to encourage others to do the same is a rewarding experience. I am humbled and grateful to our members — and leadership! — for trusting me with their feelings and vision for both the EARG and its contributions to the organization. My co-chair tenure ends June 30, and I'm excited to see our new leaders take us even further.

This week we welcomed members from Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity (Official), Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. plus many more inspiring young people and educators to the 2024 St. Jude NextGen Experience. This experience laid the groundwork for the next generation of supporters of our lifesaving mission. Each attendee supported our mission in various ways to be able to participate, and now they will be able to share all they have learned with their schools and communities. We are excited to see what impact the next generation will make as supporters. 🌟

Fundraising is one of the cornerstones of our mission. The best way we can serve this purpose is by preparing the next generation of fundraising leaders across the globe. This year, we are honored to present the fifth graduation of an ALSAC Global Scholars cohort. This program is a 9-month intensive, college-level program, managed by ALSAC, for our most highly committed global foundation partners. We celebrated 19 graduates from 15 different countries. They will go on to lead the way in fundraising and awareness for their respective foundations as we bring an end to childhood cancer, together.
