    Being a Founder of an HR consulting firm requires me to be at the forefront of HR innovation. I spend a good portion of my time demoing tools that positively impact the employee experience. I was recently introduced to Happy Companies, a SAAS Tech Startup focused on enhancing employee engagement and boosting organizational performance through their Happy Platform, and met 1:1 with their VP of Partnerships, Rahshea Cardiff, to learn more. Have you ever met someone who was sunshine in human form? That‘s how I felt speaking with Rahshea. We aligned deeply on their value of prioritizing people in the workplace, and making a difference in the world through the work that we do. Happy Believes: - People are the cornerstone of every great organization - People want to be understood at work and seek to better understand their team, coworkers, and leaders. - In helping people become the best version of themselves - Investing in people drives organizational success …and I couldn’t agree more. The name of the company, their values, and the purpose-driven people they hire is a true testament to the positive impact their tool is capable of, but I recommend you see for yourself. At the very least, you’ll get to meet an amazing person like I did ☀️

    Hire the Right People, and They Will Build the Right Culture💡 One of the biggest mistakes companies make when articulating their desired organizational culture is focusing on abstract absolute positives (integrity, respect, trust, etc). When you articulate your culture using absolute positives, it makes a statement, but it’s unlikely to drive the day-to-day decision-making (and therefore the behavior) of your workforce. If you identify the tough dilemmas your employees routinely face and clearly state how they should be resolved—“In this company, when we come across this dilemma, we turn left”—then your desired culture will take root and influence the behavior of the team. Here’s a snippet from Patagonia’s culture statement that has helped them to hire the right people and cultivate a strong company culture: “We seek out “dirtbags” who feel more at home in a base camp or on the river than they do in the office. All the better if they have excellent qualifications, but we’ll take a risk on an itinerant rock climber over a run-of-the-mill MBA.”
