Yesterday marked another significant milestone in the journey that has unfolded over several decades. Our organization was founded to be the catalyst for Utah's sports and Olympic legacy. While hosting over 1,000 Olympic, Paralympic, international, national, professional, and amateur events with our partners, our fundamental mission held steady – establish Utah as The State of Sport and leverage facilities constructed for 2002 Winter Games and other world-class venues to position ourselves as a springboard to attract a future Olympic and Paralympic Games. With sports deeply embedded in our DNA, we are on the verge of once again welcoming the world to our state. “Our strategy has not changed in over 20 years,” said Utah Sports Commission President & CEO Jeff Robbins. “Utah remains ready, willing, and able to host another Winter Games and eagerly anticipates its return. The State of Sport is welcoming a new professional sports team as the Archers Lacrosse Club will now call Utah home! “Lacrosse is growing rapidly not only in Utah but also nationally and is well positioned for future growth globally with the recent announcement of its inclusion in the 2028 Olympic Summer Games in Los Angeles.
