We're excited to share our Whole Life Decarbonization Report, in partnership with global architecture, design and planning firm Gensler, and with contributions from Sterling Bay, Core Spaces, DLC Europe and EXP. The report covers best practices for reducing operational and embodied carbon, aligning decarbonization with fiduciary responsibilities, and implementing carbon reduction across various alternative real estate sectors — including a close look at life sciences, healthcare, data centers, student housing, senior housing, build-to-rent, and self-storage. Currently, constructing and operating buildings contribute an estimated 42% of the world’s carbon emissions. Our report highlights proactive strategies to mitigate this risk, ensuring long-term asset value and marketability. V3 was honored at last week’s Big Fish Ball with two Green Ribbon Awards from Friends of the Chicago River. This award celebrates projects that demonstrate a high level of river-sensitive design and consideration, and we are thrilled to be recognized for our ecological restoration efforts for two projects: 1229 W. Concord and the Skokie River Streambank Stabilization Project. At 1229 W. Concord, we provided comprehensive site civil and infrastructure design and permitting, including ecological river edge design consulting along the North Branch of the Chicago River. This project has ambitiously reconstructed a terraced naturalized shoreline to ecologically enhance the river’s blue-green corridor. Congratulations to Sterling Bay, site design group, ltd., J.P. Morgan, Harrison Street, Bank OZK, Gensler, and Power Construction. For the Skokie River, we provided survey, wetland, water resources (permitting and design), and construction services to help stabilize a one mile stretch of the Skokie River in Lake Forest, Illinois. Congratulations to Skokie Consolidated Drainage District, Lake County Stormwater Management Commission, and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.

Honored to receive a Green Ribbon Award from Friends of the Chicago River for our development at 1229 W Concord. 1229 West Concord, is a riverfront development located along the North Branch of the Chicago River. The river-friendly landscape practices implemented through this project include providing a native-plant landscape buffer along the river’s edge, reducing the height of the seawall, building nature-based stormwater management, and providing new public access.
