About us

The mission of the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company is to provide superior fire protection to our communitythrough the use of highly trained and motivated fire fighters, the most up to date equipment, responsible financial planning and the cooperation of our neighboring departments. The Sterling Volunteer Fire Company operates out of three fire stations, responding to more than 3,000 calls annually, and is considered to be one of the busiest and most well-trained volunteer fire companies in the State of Virginia. From these stations, volunteers respond with three fire engines, three ladder trucks, a tanker, two “Special Emergency Response Vehicles” and two command units. We spend countless hours training to maintain certifications in fire fighting, emergency medical services, and technical rescue. We are also constantly upgrading our skills and equipment to keep up with the latest technology and practices in the fire service.

I don't typically use this platform for my affiliation with Sterling Volunteer Fire Company but I wanted to share below. Some of you may be aware of the tragedy that took place last week in Loudoun County. Trevor was with my old crew, which is crew 4. He joined in 2016 when I left. I did not know him personally but I am very close with the team that was hurt last Friday. Trevor and crew 4 are a special breed of people. They devote their everything at 2am for others on their worst day, and they do it as volunteers. Then the next day, their shift ends at 6am and they go back to "work" at their day job. In memory of Tevor, crew 4 and volunteers everywhere remember to work hard, play harder and take lots of pictures. To all who wish to express their support to the family of Trevor Brown and to the families of the injured firefighters through a donation. There is ONE officially sanctioned donation method: Loudoun First Responders Foundation. This donation method is in accordance with the wishes of the family, and has been coordinated with Loudoun County Fire and Rescue and the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company. Any other Go Fund Me or other fundraiser website that says it is in support of FF Trevor Brown and his family is NOT an officially sanctioned fundraising effort. The SVFC cannot speak to the legitimacy of any other fundraiser sites beyond that. https://lfrf.org/
