We're excited to announce our partnership with St. Louis Area Diaper Bank! Our Spencer Road Branch is the first in St. Charles County to provide monthly diaper distribution, available every Thursday, 9 am to 1 pm and the first Saturday of every month, 12 pm to 4 pm. “The value public libraries bring to a community continues to evolve,” Chief Executive Officer Jason Kuhl said. “Partners like the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank help us better serve our neighbors. This program fills a unique need that will help new parents as they start or grow their families.” This initiative was made possible by the Friends of the St. Charles City-County Library. I was honored to have been invited to participate in Congresswoman Cori Bush’s reproductive health roundtable discussion with special guest Minority Whip Katherine Clark. Reproductive health and menstrual health are closely interconnected. Access to period products is also crucial to reproductive health. Proper period products help manage menstrual flow effectively, preventing infections and maintaining personal hygiene. Overall, access to period products is fundamental to menstrual health, well-being, and gender equality. No student should have to miss school, no adult should have to miss work, and no person should have to miss out on daily life because they do not have access to the products they need.
