  • We have another chess master to add to our community! We are thrilled to announce that Jessica Hyatt, class of 2028, achieved the title of National Master yesterday evening. Jessica is only the second African American female chess master in US history. She participated in a tournament at the legendary Marshall Chess Club in NYC, where she earned the rating points needed to reach 2200 and earn this prestigious title! Congratulations to Jessica, the SA chess program, and every single mentor and coach who supported her along the way!

  • This fall, class of 2028 HSLA-MA alum, Zackhery Facey will be attending Harvard University! “Witnessing his incredible journey fills me with such joy. I had the pleasure of meeting him in the 4th grade and right before this photo was taken, Zackhery told me he was going to open up a school - just like me - when he grew up!” - Eva Moskowitz , our Founder and CEO. All of us at SA are so proud of Zackhery and his classmates, who are getting ready to head to selective and highly selective colleges and universities across the country.

  • Parent partnership is at the core of our school design. We simply cannot do this work without our families. We value and need their partnership throughout the entire year to ensure that our scholars are thriving in and out of the classroom. We want to thank all of our parents for their continued support and efforts in making Success the joyful and vibrant community that it is.

  • #ThrowbackThursday for an alumni update from the Class of 2027! We checked in with SA Alum, Devin, who currently studies Leadership and Management Consulting at Loyola University Maryland. At HSLA-MA, Devin became interested in management through his leadership roles as Co-Stage Manager for Tech Crew, Student Life Team Lead, and SA Student Ambassador. Now, in college, Devin still holds his status as Stage Manager for Loyola Theater and is also a Student Ambassador for Loyola Admission, giving tours to prospective students. Devin continues to hold a presence here as well, where he works as a Campus Ambassador for Success. Our alumni continue to grow and build community beyond the classroom and we are so proud to follow along on their journeys! Devin will take on a career in Project Management or Management Consulting post-college, when he graduates in 2027.

  • Did you know that 100% of our scholars took at least one AP exam this year, compared to 35% of all students in the US? In fact, 1,300+ prepared scholars sat for 16 different AP tests at the world-renowned Javits Center — the most in our history! At SA, we know AP exams are a big deal, opening doors to college credit, acceptance, and financial aid — which is why we give each and every one of our scholars the chance to take them, at no cost.

  • In this past school year, over 1,400 teachers prepared 20,000+ scholars to thrive and excel throughout our 53 schools. We thank our teachers for their dedication, passion, and hard work. Our teachers are the foundation of our schools and we appreciate them immensely for their commitment to our scholars, their families and the SA mission. Help us celebrate our teachers in the comments 🧡

  • Ciao! Join our Classroom Correspondent, Cali, as she takes us through a field study! Cali and her classmates spent months learning about the science behind yeast, the different types of bread that exist around the world, and all of the ingredients and tools used to make various doughs. Now, in this field study, they're able to take what they have learned in the classroom and use that knowledge to make their very own pizzas. Bon Appétit!
