As a gesture of our appreciation for Superior employees who served in the military, we’ve launched a new Veteran Challenge Coin initiative. We’re giving veterans these coins as a token of our gratitude for their commitment, courage, and sacrifice, which have helped preserve the freedoms and values we hold dear. Last month, Midwest President Dan Sopczak and Director of Construction Services Jeff Carlson presented the first three coins to Mike Ruane, Martin Huerta, and Chad Benner. You’ve served our country with honor, and now you’re building its future with pride. Thank you for your service, both in uniform and on the jobsite. We’re proud to work alongside you every day. #ThankYouVeterans #BuildingOurFuture #ProudToServe #ThisIsSuperiorConstruction

Superior’s First Coast team members recently took first place in the 13th annual Bowl-A-Thon hosted by the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials Jacksonville Chapter. COMTO, an organization that promotes equity in transportation leadership, organizes the annual event to raise money for student scholarships. A special shout out to our team’s MVP, Ashley Ramos, who was the highest-scoring woman to participate in the event, helping Superior secure the win! Congratulations to all who participated and helped raise money for a great cause. #ThisIsSuperiorConstruction #BuildingCommunity #COMTO

Congratulations to Officer J.T. Tapley, the @jaxsheriff Award of Excellence recipient for Q3 of 2024. Superior recently held a ceremony recognizing Ofc. Tapley’s heroic actions on May 31, 2024, at the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena. Ofc. Tapley was on duty, assigned to help monitor traffic outside the arena following a local high school graduation ceremony and nearby Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp baseball game when a shooting occurred in the parking lot. In the middle of the ensuing chaos, Ofc. Tapley remained calm and immediately communicated over the radio that shots had been fired, requesting medical help for the victim and describing the suspected shooter. He then got on his agency-issued police motorcycle and pursued the fleeing suspect. Ofc. Tapley’s quick response to the scene and concise communication led to the suspect’s arrest, ensuring no one else was harmed. His actions also enabled first responders to provide quick medical attention to the victim. Superior is proud to sponsor these awards honoring JSO's elite officers who keep Jacksonville safe. Thank you to all who joined us in celebrating Ofc. Tapley! #ThisIsSuperiorConstruction #JSO #HonorTheBlue

Thank you to everyone who attended the inaugural Superior Women in Construction "Night at the Ballpark" events in Jacksonville, Florida, and Gary, Indiana. We had a great time learning about initiatives that support women in our field alongside other industry professionals and, of course, watching the game. We look forward to hosting more events like this as SWiC continues to grow! #ThisIsSuperiorConstruction #WomenInConstruction

Funds raised during the annual event, held at Pebble Brook Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana, support the Work IN Roads, Inc. Nichele, John Horvet, Rick McCarthy, Tim Koster, P. Fabian Herrera, Sean Townsend, and Niall Letz for representing us well. #ThisIsSuperiorConstruction #BuildingCommunity

Happy OSHA Safe + Sound Week 2024! At Superior, a safety-focused culture is a top priority and essential to being an industry leader. OSHA Safe + Sound Week recognizes the successes of workplace health and safety programs, like the Good Catch program, a hazard observation and identification program allowing employees to report hazardous acts or conditions observed. Superior uses this program to reward employees who are actively making our jobsites safer for everyone! A great example of a Good Catch report-worthy incident would be if you noticed a discrepancy in the materials we receive for a project, like an undersized H-pile. This would prevent an undersized pile from being installed. Once a report is verified, the observer receives an award and is recognized at the next safety meeting. Programs like these are essential to reducing the number of potential incidents and reinforcing Superior’s safety culture. Thank you to all who collaborate with us to continuously improve our award-winning health, safety, and environmental (HSE) program. #ThisIsSuperiorConstruction #SafetyFirst #HSE #ConstructionSafety #OSHA
