    Good Thursday morning. Here is today's #sustainability news for technology partners. Details for September 12, 2024 include: 1. Research: Fully 85% of CxOs say they have increased investments in sustainability in the past year—up from 75% in 2023, a Deloitte survey found. 2. Software - 2024 Partners of the Year: Workiva announced its 2024 Partners of the Year. Several of those partners focus on Workiva's #ESG software. Honorees included: PwC US, Clearview Group, Riveron, KPMG US, Embark, Forvis Mazars, Addedo, Miltton, PWC UK, Deloitte Australia, CloudRock Partners, VantagePoint and Deloitte Global. 3. IT Services:  Logicalis has reduced #Scope1 emissions 27% and #Scope2 emissions 17% since fiscal year 2022, the global technology service provider said in its 2024 Responsible Business Report. 4. Online Marketplace: A Sustaira launched the Sustaira Sustainability Marketplace with over 150 Sustaira-built and partner solutions, services, partners, and 50+ connectors that accelerate addressing sustainability data aggregation and disclosure challenges, the company said. 5. Data Centers:  Netsooon.ai 🔴🟡🟢  has launched DataGreen🌿by Netsooon.ai -- which features technologies that "reduce carbon footprint, aligning with sustainable development and offering green, economical cloud hosting." 6. Data Centers - Renewable Energy:  Exowatt has launched Exowatt P3, a modular energy solution (spanning solar and storage technologies) that's "designed to meet the growing power demands of data centers and energy-intensive industries." Exowatt is a high-profile startup backed by such investors as a16z, Atomic, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. 7. Partnership - IT Services and Energy Services: A Capco Energy Solutions and ESG are partnering to help "energy companies modernize and upgrade their legacy platforms." Capco, part of global IT consulting company Wipro, often serves retail energy suppliers and utilities. ESG provides SaaS-based energy solutions. 8. Partnership - Software:  Thomson Reuters and SAP have partnered to fine-tune SAP's ESG software for EU compliance standards. 9. Partnership - Texas Energy:  Vistra Corp. and Sunrun are partnering to support grid reliability for Texas homeowners. Specifically: TXU Energy & Sunrun Battery Rewards program will "aggregate power stored in residential, solar-connected batteries, forming a virtual power plant to dispatch energy back to the grid when it's needed the most," the two companies said. 10. Education: UPES, in collaboration with Mahindra University and Aspire Impact, has launched the ESG, Sustainability, and Impact Specialist Program (ISP), an "Executive Education initiative designed to cultivate the next generation of Chief Impact Officers."     New Chief Sustainability Officer to Know: Sabert Corporation, a manufacturer of food packaging solutions, has hired Richa Desai as chief #sustainability and strategy officer. Here are four things to know: 1. Business Scope and Scale: Sabert, founded in 1983, is based in Sayreville, New Jersey. Sabert's packaging focus involves five areas of expertise: Performance, Presentation, Safety, Sustainability and Economics. 2. Sustainability Strategy: Sabert's sustainability strategy -- known as Earthtelligent -- "drives improved environmental outcomes through innovative business thinking," the company asserts. 3. Role and Experience: This is Desai's second tour of duty at Sabert. From 2019 to 2021, she was "instrumental in establishing and building Earthtelligent, the company's initial sustainability framework," Sabert said. Never forget. The market updates... 1. Freemium Software:  Schneider Electric has launched Zeigo Activate Lite, a freemium version of its flagship #decarbonization #SaaS platform. 2. Software Suite: Novata has launched Novata for Companies, a platform that includes various sustainability, carbon measurement and #CSRD compliance solutions. 3. Software - CSRD Compliance:  Cority, a provider of environmental, health, and safety (#EHS) and sustainability software, has launched a CSRD Enablement Kit. The kit is "designed to assist organizations in meeting the rigorous requirements of the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)," the company said. 4. IT Infrastructure: PC, server and data center hardware provider Lenovo is calling on partners and customers to participate in sustainability workshops while also leveraging #carbonoffset services. 5. Partnership - Professional Services & Environmental Software: A WSP -- the engineering, environment and professional services firm -- has partnered with Circa Technologies Ltd, a developer of tools and data for life cycle assessment (LCA). Circa's technology "analyzes the potential environmental impacts of products and services during their entire life cycle." 6. Partnership - Real Estate Carbon Emissions: A Visual Lease (VL) and Workiva are partnering to promote #carbonaccounting and sustainability management to enterprise real estate and equipment customers. 7. Partnership - Solar Energy Infrastructure:  Cypress Creek Renewables, a solar and storage developer and independent power producer, has selected Maxeon Solar Technologies solar panels for installation at key power plant projects in the U.S., the two companies said. 8. Home and EV Energy Management:  TeraHive has launched three smart energy solutions that "optimize energy storage, usage, efficiency and performance," the company said. TeraHive has also integrated with the Lumen smart panel to "enhance home battery power backup solutions." 9. Direct Air Capture Deal:  #Google plans to purchase carbon removal credits from direct air capture (DAC) provider Holocene, the search giant announced.     Talent, Leadership: SUEZ, provider of circular solutions for water and waste, hires Stephanie Cau as chief communication, marketing, #sustainability and public affairs. Her start date is October 1, 2024. Here are five things to know about Cau's experience and expertise, the SUEZ business, and the company's sustainability strategy. 1. Executive Transition: Cau succeeds Frederick Jeske-Schoenhoven, executive VP and chief strategy and sustainability officer. Jeske-Schoenhoven is exiting the business to pursue new opportunities, the company said. 2. Business Scope and Scale: SUEZ, founded in 2003, is based in Paris, France. The company was formed through various acquired assets. SUEZ has more than 40,000 employees across 40 countries. Revenues were roughly €8.9 billion (US$9.82 billion) in 2023. 3. Sustainability Goals: SUEZ announced various sustainability ambitions and 24 operational commitments in January 2023. The company is seeking to reduce its direct and indirect #carbonemissions by 45% by 2030. The overall goal is to achieve net zero by 2050. 4. Stéphanie Cau's Experience: Cau most recently was chief communications officer at automaker #Renault Group. Earlier, she spent nearly a decade at Bureau Veritas Group -- where she held various chief of staff, VP and senior VP positions involving CSR, branding and communications. Bureau Veritas, by the way, has a strong sustainability and #renewableenergy focus. 5. Executive Perspectives: In a prepared statement, SUEZ CEO Sabrina Soussan said: “I am thrilled to welcome Stéphanie Cau as our new Chief Communication, Marketing, Sustainability and Public Affairs.     Good Tuesday morning. Here is today's #sustainability news for technology partners. Updates for Tuesday, September 10, include: 1. How to Sell Sustainability: Bain & Co has four recommendations. Follow the link further below for the guidance. 2. International Expansion - Software:  3E, a provider of #SaaS solutions for #renewableenergy assets, has expanded into the United States and opened an office in Raleigh, North Carolina. 3. Partnership - Home Energy Technology:  Eaton and Tesla are partnering to "boost the functionality and adoption of home energy storage and solar installations in North America." Product launches, expected in 2025, will "make it easier and faster for installers and homeowners to achieve intelligent load management functionality that helps optimize energy use and extend backup duration during a grid outage," the two companies said. 4. Partnership - EV Chargers: A Blink Charging and WEX are partnering to "enhance the integration of #EVcharging into mixed energy fleets," the two companies said. Among the results: WEX’s network will have roughly 130,000 public chargers across the United States. 5. Apple Product Launches and E-Waste: The Apple #iPhone16, Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Watch Ultra 2 and AirPods 4 launch announcements each briefly mentioned Apple's sustainability efforts. But company critics say Apple's annual product launches and planned product obsolescence contribute to global #ewaste problems. Also, #AppleIntelligence capabilities -- expected to launch in October October -- didn't mention whether the company will align #AI with sustainability. 6. Layoffs: Swedish battery maker Northvolt will lay off some employees amid slowing growth in the EV market. The actual job cut figure is still pending. M&A, FINANCING AND STARTUP NEWS... 1. Accelerator: A Suffolk Technologies has selected five startups for its fifth annual BOOST accelerator. They are: GeniaKroonovlTangible and Trunk. Those startups leverage AI to "streamline design, prefabrication, sustainability efforts, project management and data." BOOST is an eight-week #accelerator designed to "drive growth and equip innovative built environment #startups with the resources, mentorship, and industry connections they need to transform the sector," the company said. 2. M&A Financing - Solar Technology:  Complete Solar has raised more than $40 million to acquire certain SunPower Corporation business units, the buyer said.  SunPower filed for #bankruptcy in August 2024. 3. M&A - Consulting:  Earth Finance, Inc., a climate strategy and financing firm, has acquired Water Foundry, a global water strategy consultancy. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Bureau Veritas Group acquires ArcVera Renewables, a #RenewableEnergy consulting firm focused on wind, solar, and battery storage projects worldwide. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. ArcVera, founded in 2017, is headquartered in Golden, Colorado. The company generated revenue of €6.5 million (US$7.2 million) in 2023. Bureau Veritas, founded in 1828, is based in Courbevoie, France. The company provides inspection, certification, and laboratory testing services. Bureau Veritas has 83,000 employees focused on such areas as quality, health and safety, environmental protection, and sustainability. The latest addition to the list is Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (#MBRDI), which announced a Climate Tech Incubator in Hyderabad, India. The MBRDI incubator will "provide critical support to 25 social enterprises dedicated to sustainable mobility and environmental solutions," In collaboration with T-Hub, a prominent Indian startup incubator, MBRDI will offer #seedfunding, mentorship, and access to advanced technical expertise, the company said. Additionally, the program will engage over 500 students in a bootcamp designed to develop climate technology solutions, Mercedes noted. Net Zero Energy Homes: The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is assisting the City of Milwaukee to develop 25 all-electric, net-zero energy homes on vacant lots in three disadvantaged communities, the university said. 11. Partnership - Plastics Recycling:  Schneider Electric and GR3N SA are partnering to create an "open automation system for the advanced plastic recycling industry." 12. Business Expansion: Schneider Electric is investing £42 million in a new manufacturing facility in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. More than 200 jobs will be created to "meet the increased demand for electrical equipment to drive the UK's move to cleaner energy including renewable energy sources, electric vehicles, and intelligent, energy-efficient buildings," the company said. 13. EV Production: Japan's Toyota Motor Corporation has slashed its electric vehicle production plans for 2026 by a third, the Nikkei business daily reported. 14.
