We’re excited to announce our new major: agroecology! What is agroecology? #Agroecology is a science that makes #agriculture and #foodSystems more sustainable. It looks at how our use of plants, animals, and microbes combine with our management of land, air, and water. The goal is to create ecosystems that improve human health and well-being. Know any students interested in #sustainability, agriculture, food systems, and social justice? Send them our way! The 2008 film WALL-E explores the connection between technology, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. With the continued rise of #AI, we want to understand the intersections between sustainability and technology—and whether we're heading to a WALL-E future. Hosts Britta Wellenstein and Rory Tevlin talk to UW–Madison Data Science Institute Director Kyle Cranmer about how AI can enhance the University of Wisconsin-Madison's sustainability goals. We then turn to Kaiping Chen, assistant professor in the department of UW-Madison Life Sciences Communication, to discuss humans' relationship with technology and her recent research into chatbots. 🎧: https://lnkd.in/gBcDZFy7
