Join the SWE Early Career Professionals Affinity Group (SWE ECP AG)! Our mission is to foster a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive culture for early career professionals within SWE. ECP AG members will have the benefit in being engaged and provided opportunities for future growth, networking, professional and leadership development in both SWE and the workplace.
Our AG shall focus on matters of developing SWE members with 10 years or less of career experience regardless of age, demographics, geographical location, or culture.
The SWE ECP AG invites you on August 29th at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT to a virtual panel discussion with current SWE leaders to learn about the different pathways to leadership in the Society of Women Engineers.
Tomorrow is our Professional Development Series Kickoff! This is the kickoff event for the SWE ECP AG’s new Professional Development Series, which will occur monthly with presentations by fellow ECP AG members. The kickoff will start with an overview of the series including the process to volunteer to present and future presentation topics. Following this informational overview, Diya Dwarakanath will present on “Being Comfortable Outside Your Comfort Zone: Technical and Essential Skills”.
Diya D. (she/her) works as an independent science journalist, writing about engineering from her medical device industry experience. She is also a professional speaker and early-career adviser. She has worked at Oracle, Becton Dickinson (BD), DNA Electronics, and Cue Health as a solutions engineer, R&D systems test engineer, product development engineer, and senior in-vitro diagnostics device engineer for 6.5 years. A biomedical engineer, Dwarakanath received SWE’s Ada I. Pressman Memorial Scholarship in 2016. Within SWE, she is the Writing Lead of the SWE Mentoring Committee and serves on the SWE Editorial Board.
