Our latest research for Life Happens looked at when life gets “real” for Americans. We explored the highs and lows of “adulting”, especially when it comes to finances. These were some of the findings...
What does it mean to be an adult, and at what age does it actually happen for people? Life Happens sought the answers through a generational lens, with some surprising results. A recent study of 2,000 Americans split evenly by generation (500 Gen Z, 500 millennials, 500 Gen X and 500 baby boomers) revealed that being an “adult” doesn’t automatically start the day you turn 18. Today, a majority believe that the definition of “adulting” is simply paying your own bills (56%). Others say that being financially independent (45%) and putting responsibilities over their personal life or having fun (38%) are key markers of entering your adulthood era. In fact, moving out of their parents’ or guardians’ house (46%) and getting their first career job or a job in their chosen field (28%) are two of the top events that made Americans feel like an adult. Still, 11% of Gen Zers don’t feel like an adult. The survey, conducted by Talker Research (formerly OnePoll U.S.) on behalf of Life Happens, explored Americans’ highs and lows, especially when it comes to finances, as well as the older generations’ advice for young adults.

Feeling overwhelmed at work? You’re not alone! Our latest research for Wisetail, an Intertek Company reveals that one in five frontline workers have seriously considered quitting due to the stress of information overload. 📊 In the poll of 1,000 U.S. workers across retail, food service, fitness, and hospitality industries, a staggering 83% reported feeling overwhelmed to some degree by the sheer volume of information they need to juggle daily. 🔍 What’s driving this stress? A significant 43% of respondents identified a lack of certain skills as a major contributor, while 55% admitted that stress makes them more prone to mistakes. “It’s very easy to get overwhelmed by information, and that can absolutely lead to making mistakes,” said Ali Knapp, President at Wisetail. “As some of these respondents said it, it’s important to not rush into it and to take time to learn about their role and really lean into the resources your company provides.” #informationoverload #workplacestress #customresearch #statsthatspeak

In a poll for Melanoma Research Alliance we asked 2,000 Americans about their sun care and looked at the habits of different generations regarding sun protection. Our findings show that before their mid-20’s, Americans aren’t taking proper care of their skin. In fact, respondents are four times as likely to get scalded by the sun than they are to use sunscreen. Younger generations appear to be taking their skin health more seriously than older generations, as the results revealed that Gen Z are more likely to wear sunscreen daily, whether that’s body or facial sunscreen. Dr. Marc Hurlbert, CEO of Melanoma Research Alliance emphasizes a crucial point, “There are many common misconceptions about the importance of sunscreen and protecting your skin from the sun. No matter if it’s a sunny or cloudy day, if you plan to stay indoors, or if you’re sitting by a window, in a plane, or in a car, it’s important to wear sunscreen daily – all year round – to protect yourself from harmful rays that can cause melanoma.” Read more about the research findings in this Newsweek article: https://hubs.ly/Q02NMYfF0 And to learn more about the Melanoma Research Alliance, the largest private nonprofit funder of melanoma research, visit their website here: https://hubs.ly/Q02NMZdn0 #sunsafety #sunscreen #skinhealth #customresearch

Fascinating insights from research conducted for Hagerty. The results of an online poll of 2,000 Americans suggests a strong and growing interest in collector cars, trucks and motorcycles among Gen Z respondents. Read more ⤵
The news is getting out: "Maybe the future of collector cars and enthusiast drivers isn’t the doom and gloom affair that we’d been led to believe. According to a survey by Hagerty, young adult generations (Gen Z and Millennials) are significantly more likely to be interested in owning a classic car than Baby Boomers. Tastes in the car community are certainly changing, and you might not find a 30-year-old who wants to buy your T-Bucket or a 20-something who can afford your six-figure Superbird, but enthusiasm remains high in younger generations." - Jalopnik Read the whole article here: https://bit.ly/4dGKhPz #Jalopik #Hagerty #classiccars #collectiblecars #letsdrivetogether #GOMedia
