Bird is the word! We are proud of our two dredge spoil islands, which have become globally significant bird nesting sites. Years ago, the port created two islands in Hillsborough Bay from material removed from shipping channels. These islands have become home to significant nesting bird populations, including the American Oystercatcher and Least Tern, some of the state's rarest species. #Birding #Nesting #EnvironmentalRestoration

"Our shared focus on hurricane readiness is not just about protecting the port; it’s about safeguarding the critical supply chains that serve the entire state of Florida. Port Tampa Bay provides nearly half of Florida’s fuel supply, maintaining operations even during storms to ensure that essential resources remain available. Our commitment to resuming operations post-storm is paramount, recognizing the dense network of businesses, public entities and residents that rely on us for necessities like fuel, groceries and home repair goods, like lumber and steel."
