We are very proud to employ several veterans of the U.S. Coast Guard! In fact, we currently have 6 USCG veterans on our staff, including the former Captain of the Sector St. Petersburg Command. In his position, he oversaw the safety and security of Tampa Bay's navigable waters and now brings that experience and insight to his work at the port. Our vets are true experts in maritime safety and we are lucky to have them on our team. #USCG #Coasties #Hiring #Veterans

A little rain didn't deter our team from touring Chett Chiasson, Executive Director at Port Fourchon & South Lafourche Airport last week. During his visit, Executive Director Chiasson enjoyed sharing insight and ideas with our own COO, Brian Giuliani, and Director of Security, Jorge Torres. #PortTour #PortTampaBay #SafetyFirst

Today, we had another successful Harbor Tour, with a focus on Environmental Stewardship. This quarterly event aims to educate our community about the environmental initiatives that Port Tampa Bay and our community partners are undertaking to ensure the safety and resilience of our local community. We are immensely grateful to all the vendors who participated, taking the time to share their knowledge and insights about the environmental measures we are implementing. Their presence and expertise helped highlight the collective efforts being made to protect and preserve our home here in Tampa Bay! 🌊 Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful U.S. Coast Guard The Mosaic Company Tampa Bay Watch Southwest Florida Water Management District Freedom Boat Club Hillsborough County TECO Energy University of South Florida Florida Department of Environmental Protection Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County Tampa Bay Estuary Program We would also like to thank the Yacht StarShip for generously lending us their boat, which makes it possible for us to offer these free tours to our community. ☀ Learn more about our harbor tours: https://lnkd.in/e__E6fhy

We were well represented at the American Association of Port Authorities SMART PORTS conference. The conference shares best practices related to technology, safety, security, and cybersecurity. In addition to presenting and leading panels at the event, several port staff lead AAPA subcommittees, and are considered leaders in the Maritime industry by their peers. #AAPASMARTPORTS #seaportsdeliver #leadership #cybersecurity

Cheers to a year! One year ago, we celebrated the grand opening of Moffitt Cancer Center's Community Outreach and Education Center at Cruise Terminal 2. The center can save lives and offers educational resources and appointment assistance for Tampa Bay residents and visitors. #CancerScreening #Moffitt

When we work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to dredge our shipping channels, it creates a unique opportunity to support our ecosystem! The port manages two successful bird nesting habitats on 'spoil islands' created from the dredged material. Our channels are already quite deep, so dredging does not impact the seagrasses or wildlife in the bay. Instead, it helps create more protected space for nesting species to raise their young and thrive! #Birdnesting #Environment #Stewardship

It's Hurricane Season we're serious about our role in storm recovery. Nearly half of Florida's fuel supply is supplied out of Port Tampa Bay, which means maintaining operations even during storms is essential to ensure resources remain available. There is a dense network of businesses, public entities, and residents who rely on us for necessities like fuel, groceries, and home repair goods, such as lumber and steel. It's why we're committed to resuming operations post-storm as soon as possible. #HurricaneSeason #stormprep #resiliency
