⚠️Tropical Storm Debby is moving slowly at 6 MPH, and is expected to continue at this pace over the next several days, bringing torrential rains and a threat of major flooding to the Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina coasts.

⚠️Debby has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm. Associated rainbands are persisting over the eastern Gulf moving into Tampa Bay southward to Ft. Myers with frequent lightning. Debby is expected to have a gradual decrease in forward speed with a turn toward the east later today and Tuesday. The center will move across southeastern Georgia tonight and Tuesday, and is expected to move offshore of the South Carolina coast by late Tuesday and Wednesday.

⚠️Debby made landfall as a Category 1 hurricane this morning near Steinhatchee, FL. This slow-moving hurricane is expected to bring historic levels of rainfall, leading to potential flash flooding across the southeast. The current track has Debby moving through GA on Tuesday and potentially back over the Atlantic near coastal SC. If it does move back over water, there is a possibility of Debby strengthening and making a second landfall as a tropical storm in SC between Charleston and Myrtle Beach.

⚠️Tropical Storm Debby is forecasted to move across the eastern Gulf of Mexico through tonight, and reach the Florida Big Bend coast Monday morning. It is expected to move slowly across N Florida and S Georgia Monday through Tuesday. Debby is likely to become a hurricane tonight before it reaches the Florida Big Bend coast, but weaken after it moves inland.

⚠️Tropical Depression 4 is forecasted to turn toward the northwest today, followed by a northward motion on Sunday, and then a slower northeastward motion Sunday night and Monday. The center of the depression will move across western Cuba this morning, and then over the eastern Gulf of Mexico later today and Sunday, reaching the Florida Gulf coast late Sunday or Monday. It's expected to strengthen over the next couple of days, and is likely to become a tropical storm later today.

⚠️NOAA has provided a cone of probability for AL97. Currently, they are not predicting the storm will reach hurricane strength, but it will produce considerable rainfall. Tropical storm warnings have been issued in Florida through Sunday.

AL97 now has a 90% chance of development into a tropical depression over the next 7 days. It's moving through the Bahamas and Jamaica now and will emerge over the straights of Florida later tonight, or tomorrow, where the environmental conditions are favorable for continued development. A NOAA Hurricane Hunter aircraft is scheduled to investigate the system later today.
