Well done Oisín Jago. Another great internship story from one of our students. Sounds like a terrific program at PwC Ireland.
I recently completed my 8-week summer internship in technology consulting at PwC, and the entire experience has been nothing short of incredible! Throughout the internship, I not only gained invaluable technology skills but also developed a deeper understanding of business dynamics and the consulting industry. I am extremely grateful to PwC for the opportunity to work on genuine, impactful projects, and for the chance to present these projects to senior management – an experience I will never forget. A big thank you to the graduate recruitment team for organising such an amazing internship, from the projects to the social events and the immensely enjoyable CSR volunteering day. A special thank you to PwC Ireland as well as to my mentors and colleagues, for their guidance, support and for making my summer internship such a valuable experience. #PwC #SummerInternship #Consulting

This summer, I had the opportunity to complete a 10 week internship at Optum as part of the Technology Development Programme. Over the past 10 weeks, I got to work on a project alongside other interns, with the guidance of senior software engineers. Our project was a full-stack web app with our own AI chatbot. By working on this project, I've gained exposure to many technologies which I hadn't worked with before, such as Python, SQL, React, TypeScript and Azure OpenAI. I also got to see how the Agile methodology is applied in a real company by attending daily meetings with the rest of the team. All in all, the experience was a very good exposure to the world of software engineering and I'm very grateful to have had this opportunity. I'm excited to bring what I've learned to my future career.

Brilliant article and great to see the University Sector acknowledged for its role in the strength of our AI workforce. Thanks for sharing Prag Sharma
Excellent article by Prof. Alan Smeaton, with contributions from Dr. Nicola Stokes, for the Irish Development Authority (IDA), on why Ireland is well placed to support the rise of AI globally. Alan lays out many interconnected components in the Irish ecosystem that are paying dividends for the organizations that are investing here: 1. A strong AI talent pipeline actively driven by the universities here 2. The multinational ecosystem that is investing in AI and related fields here 3. Emerging Irish spinouts and startups 4. A very mature Industry-Academia partnership ecosystem Great to get a mention in the article also ofcourse! https://lnkd.in/eyU7vkpv
