Warehousing and distribution division founded in 1948. TCW has expanded our operations into intermodal drayage throughout the entire southeast. We also have our own fleet of 53 foot dry vans for truckload and distribution servicing customers ranging from Nissan to Bridgestone/Firestone, and many other valued partners.

Tonight, during the last evening of the 2024 Alabama Trucking Convention, we are proud to officially introduce our Driver of the Year, Lloyd Howell of TCW, a seasoned professional with more than 25 years behind the wheel and nearly 2 million safe miles. He currently serves on the Alabama Road Team, a public outreach program that has allowed him to educate hundreds of students about the “Share the Road” initiative that teaches young drivers how to safely drive near commercial vehicles. Recently, he was named a captain for the American Trucking Association’s America’s Road Team, further amplifying his highway safety efforts. He embodies all that we value at Alabama Trucking!

To compete successfully at both the state and national truck driving levels, a dedicated professional must possess a comprehensive understanding of the industry, conduct thorough pre-trip inspections, and demonstrate proficiency in navigating driving skills courses. Most importantly, they must maintain an accident-free driving record for a full year. Allow me to introduce our South Carolina winners: Wesley Byers, representing our Charleston OpCenter (right), secured 1st place in flatbed and is bound for Nationals. Josh Tanner, representing our Columbia OpCenter (middle), earned the title of Rookie of the Year. Chuck Denson, representing our Spartanburg OpCenter (left), achieved 2nd place in tank.
