It’s how we first started with 5 locations and a handful of VCs hosting 1,000 people simultaneously across downtown Austin! Networking calls, founder meetings, applications, projects, and interviews. These have been my focus areas recently, so I took a break to go to an in-person networking event last night at The Red Fridge Society for their summer community happy hour.          This one was Caribbean‎ themed with a rum tasting and some island inspired snacks. Island wear was encouraged, which set a chill networking vibe. It felt like I was just going over to a colleague’s house to catch-up with my work friends. I loved chatting with Chris Taylor from The Red Fridge Society, CS Freeland from the Texas Venture Alliance, Julian Jimenez and Abhinav Paturi from Meet Texas, Henry LeGard from Verisoul, and Nikolas Hamon. Seeing and hearing the passion that each professional had for their work was both inspiring and invigorating. While I had been to The Red Fridge Society last year for the Texas Venture Fest (formerly Texas Venture Crawl), Oct 3rd in Austin, it was at night and I didn’t have a chance to fully appreciate this event venue. Now a curated community of Austin entrepreneurs, investors and creators, it was originally built in 1921 as a craftsman house. I can say that I will certainly be going back, and would highly recommend it for those looking to find a great place to work, socialize, or host an event! #VentureCapital #Startups #Community #Networking #Austin

What started as an idea that came from a Texas Venture Alliance conference, turned into meetings with VC and innovation -focused folks from around Texas and is now coming to fruition.
