Creation of Heal Group Strengthens TFE and Other Subsidiaries NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (Jan.12, 2024) – TFE, Inc. (TFE) and its president, Mr. Douglas Heal, are proud to announce the formation of Heal Group, LLC (Heal Group), a family-owned holding company, of which TFE will now be a subsidiary. Heal Group consolidates multiple companies into a single holding group, providing integration of key infrastructure services such as finance, operations, strategy and growth, and human resources. TFE is a provider of innovative solutions and services for logistics, records management, information governance, training, and other technical services for Government and commercial clients. In addition to TFE, other subsidiaries within Heal Group are Clinch River Services, LLC (CRS), DML, Inc. (DML), and Walker Metalworks, LLC (Walker Metalworks). CRS has been supporting United States Department of Energy (DOE) contractors with trucking and logistics services for more than four years. Since 1998, DML has offered equipment and facility leasing services. Walker Metalworks was recently formed to manufacture waste containers and provide specialized fabrication services. This group of companies has a strong footprint throughout the U.S., with major offices in North Augusta, SC; Oak Ridge, TN; Piketon, OH; Carlsbad, NM; and Abingdon, VA. Joining this group effective Jan. 1, 2024, is American Radiation Services (ARS), with a laboratory in Port Allen, LA. Heal Group acquired ARS from The Aleut Corporation in late 2023–bringing into the family of subsidiaries the ability to perform a variety of analytical and characterization services. ARS has been providing radiological, inorganic, and organic analyses for commercial and Federal customers across the U.S. for more than 31 years and will continue to expand these services offered.  “Working with TFE for the past 11 years has demonstrated to me the importance of investing in the growth of companies and building capabilities to better serve our customers,” Heal stated. “With all of our current subsidiaries and partnerships, we have a strong footprint providing services throughout DOE and the commercial nuclear industry. Employee Spotlight: Keith Crowe (and Rocky) Keith Crowe is TFE’s corporate Contracts Manager and Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) Manager at our Business Office in Oak Ridge, TN. Keith joined TFE two years ago, bringing over 15 years of construction management, project management, and operations experience from multiple different fields. His variety of work experiences range from municipal water supply construction management at Denver Water to food donation program management for major corporations (YUM!, Whole Foods, Darden, Blooming, and more) and have brought a unique perspective to TFE. Keith is known for his attention to detail while also not losing sight of the big picture. When asked about his time at TFE, Keith stated, "I enjoy working for a company like TFE where I get to work on many varied tasks and projects that come through the office." Keith's boxer, Rocky, recently turned seven months old and is beginning his journey at TFE. He can be found in the Oak Ridge office a couple days a week. Rocky brings his goofy demeaner and loving personality to the office where he adds to workplace productivity and morale. In his free time, Keith enjoys camping (glamping) with his wife, two kids, and Rocky in their travel trailer. This hobby allows them to travel regularly and explore new areas throughout the country. Employee Spotlight: Maria Steade Maria Steade is TFE's Records Analyst III working on the Salado Isolation Mining Contractors (SIMCO) Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) project. Maria is based in Oak Ridge, TN. Originally from Manila, Philippines, Maria considers Denver, CO, her hometown. She has moved and traveled around a bit, but now calls Oak Ridge, TN, her home. Maria has worked on U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) WIPP's Central Characterization Project (CCP) for over 20 years, starting in records management at the Savannah River Site (SRS). She then moved to Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) and Non-Destructive Assay (NDA) operations. The last six years Maria has worked for TFE in our records department. "I have a good group of teammates that work well together and help each other out when needed," Maria remarked about her team. "I enjoy having a good social working environment with my coworkers and friends." Maria and her husband, Marcus, have three children: Alexia, Isabella, and Benjamin. In her free time, Maria enjoys spending time with her friends and going on family vacations and adventurous outings.
