It's #DisabilityPrideMonth! Let's talk about accessibility in architecture. Our latest #FutureFocused video starts the conversation with Rachel Wiesbrock, Assoc. AIA, who is an accessibility specialist at LCM Architects in Chicago! ✨ Rachel's experiences as a person with a physical disability give her a unique awareness of physical barriers, and as a trained architectural designer, she has the technical knowledge to contribute thoughtful solutions to remediate access inequities. Throughout the past six years, she has worked for architecture firms performing ADA compliance plan reviews, completing survey reports, and recommending design remediations ranging from new builds to existing buildings. Rachel currently serves on the AIA National Associates Committee (#AIANAC), AIA Illinois Board of Directors as the Illinois State and Territory Associate Representative (STAR), and as a Board member of the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA) Young Professionals. #AIA #Architecture #Design #WomenInArchitecture #AccessibleDesign
