About us
The Barracks Project (TBP) is helping honorably discharged veterans reintegrate back into the civilian community. The struggles do not end once you return home, sometimes they're just beginning. We want to ensure that the daily battles our veterans are going through are addressed and hopefully resolved. Veterans are some of the most prideful beings on Earth, and rightfully so. However, we want them to know that it is ok to ask for help after serving your country. We truly believe that TBP will be able to help save lives and forever change the lives of those who have defended ours. Ultimately, we are looking to raise funds to assist our veterans in getting back on their feet in whatever way we possibly can. All donations will 100% be donations. No "staff", only volunteers. The veterans we assist must be actively seeking a job and/or enrolled in school at all times. We will help with providing training for different job trades of their interest. Unless you are a veteran or involved in a military lifestyle it is hard to understand the struggles of becoming a civilian again, and that is where we come into play. We truly believe The Barracks Project will not only be providing every day assistance but help our vets reinstall their pride that may have been lost during their struggles which is crucial for success. Determined and fearless, we are dedicating our time and efforts to call upon other civilians to give back to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.There is no reason that a protector of our country should ever be starving, jobless, or living on the streets. No words will ever express our gratitude for your support. Any little amount of donation or sharing of our mission will go a long way and we promise it will be appreciated. Each month we fulfill emergency financial assistance applications for veterans in need. During the month of July 2024 we were able to fulfill over $7,700 in emergency financial assistance applications. This number continues to increase as more applications roll in each week. ❤️ For the 2024 year to date we have already fulfilled over $35,000 in financial assistance applications. This number is growing. We stand by our mission. As a true #501c3nonprofit every penny goes directly towards helping our veterans and military community members. If you know of a veteran needing assistance please reach out to us or send them our information! Our emergency financial assistance form can be found on our website. 💜 Today is National Purple Heart Day. 💜 The Purple Heart medal is awarded to those who were wounded or killed in action while serving their country in the Armed Forces. It is the oldest military decoration in present use. 💜 George Washington established the Purple Heart in 1782, and since then nearly 2 million Purple Hearts have been awarded. Today we honor and remember the recipients of the Purple Heart Medal. May we never forget their sacrifices. We are the land of the free, because of the brave. 💜

Five years ago today, our TBP volunteer tribe welcomed our very first homeless veteran house guest. Since that day, we've been honored to actively “support the lives that fought for ours”. Today, we are thrilled to welcome our newest veteran to the Covington Grace Home. 💙❤️ This incredible journey of support and care is only possible because of the unwavering dedication and generosity of our volunteers and supporters. Thank you for making our mission a reality and for helping us provide a safe and welcoming place for our heroes to get back on their own feet. Our newest guest will stay with us for up to the next 90 days, free of charge. Together, we continue to honor their service and sacrifice. Here's to many more years of making a difference, one veteran at a time. 🇺🇸 We have a donation bin out front on the porch should you find it in your heart to donate any grocery or dinner gift cards, snacks, drinks, anything you may have.
