Myth: Very few children are affected by foster care.     Truth: 6% of all U.S. children are placed in #fostercare at least once between birth and the age of 18.    The Buckeye Ranch’s Foster Care network exists to meet this need head on, with more than 200 foster homes across Ohio providing safe, secure, treatment-oriented living arrangements for youth in the custody of child protective services.    The urgent reality is that we need more loving foster families to meet the needs of the more than 27,000 children in Ohio’s foster care system right now. Volunteers needed! 🖌 🎨 We are looking for volunteers to join us in getting creative with artist Miles Balfour to support him in bringing to life his beautiful upcoming mural at The Buckeye Ranch’s very own charter school, The Bonner Academy!    We are thrilled to be working with Miles and can’t wait to share his incredible, vibrant work of art with the community – but we need your help!    Mural volunteer opportunities will be available every Monday from August 22-September 9 between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. No previous artistic experience necessary! Hamilton County Jobs and Family services recently celebrated the graduation of 82 students in #FosterCare – the most ever in one school year in program history!    A support system is vital for youth in foster care to be set up for long-term success. Unfortunately, more than 50 youth age out of foster care across the country each day. We are celebrating the incredible work of our Intensive Home-Based Treatment (IHBT) team!  As one of the six programs within our Community-Based service line, IHBT is a mental health service designed to meet the needs of youth with serious emotional challenges who are at risk of out-of-home placement or who are returning home from placement. These services are performed out in the community and focus on the mental health issues that put the youth at risk while promoting positive development and healthy family functioning.    As a testament to the incredible healing they make possible, this team has been getting some amazing reviews from families they serve via our client feedback surveys:    “Our IHBT clinician does a great job. It is not easy helping a teen “sort out the pieces” of their brokenness.
