Drawing on the Trust’s expertise as a convener, our Community Impact and Philanthropic Services teams worked together in 2023 to create a year-long experience for donors who gave to the Amplification Fund, an opportunity for donors not only to help local residents who benefit from Trust grantmaking but also connect directly with grant recipients. The first cohort of donors supported the launch of the Trust's Income Growth Solutions funding program. #Chicago #Philanthropy Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gieaa9Mz

The Chicago Community Trust would like to take a moment to remember Judy Stofer Block, who passed away recently. Judy was a philanthropist and a pioneer among Chicago’s civic giants, becoming the first woman to lead The Field Museum’s board in 1997 and serving as board chair for numerous other civic and nonprofit organizations. From 1988-1998, she served on the Trust’s Executive Committee and was one of the first members of the Committee on Children, Youth and Families, which aimed to improve the foundation’s grantmaking for youth and families. In addition, she was involved in Chicago Dinners, a precursor to On the Table. Judy and her family have long had a close relationship with the Trust, with her father-in-law Philip D. Block Jr., serving on the Executive Committee prior to her tenure and her daughter, Margie Stineman, serving as a current member. In 2007, she received the Order of Lincoln Laureate, Illinois’ most prestigious civilian award for professional achievement and public service. We honor Judy’s legacy and her commitment to service and #Chicago, a city she loved. #Philanthropy Learn more: https://bit.ly/3WfFleD
