About us

The Children's Advocacy Center of Jackson County is a grass-roots community project to provide a home-like environment where child victims of abuse can disclose abuse to law enforcement and child protective workers in privacy and safety and can receive services in one child-friendly location. Website: http://cacjc.org By redesigning the "system" with the special needs of children in mind, the Center reduces the trauma of abuse, and provides coordinated support services for child abuse victims to begin their healing process. Originally, the Children's Advocacy Center of Jackson County was a project of the Jackson County Child Abuse Task Force, Inc. The Task Force was a group of professional and lay people concerned about the child abuse issues within the county who have formed a private, non-profit charitable tax exempt organization under Oregon law. The Task Force was formed in 1977 and with the help of local businesses, many civic organizations, schools, churches and countless individuals, opened the Children's Advocacy Center in 1991. The Center was expanded to its present location in the historic Reames building in April of 1995. Since then, two major expansions have allowed the Center to meet the growing needs of Jackson County. Today, program support is provided and sought from local businesses, individuals, City, County, State, and Federal governments as well as grants from organizations, corporations, and foundations. The Children's Advocacy Center of Jackson County is a charter member of the National Children's Alliance.

  • We are thrilled to announce that our Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (PSANE) Program officially expanded coverage to Asante Three Rivers Medical Center (ATRMC) in Grants Pass on June 1st, 2024! 🎉 This program serves children under the age of 15 who have experienced acute sexual abuse and require an urgent medical and forensic evaluation. We worked closely with the physicians and staff leaders at ATRMC along with the Josephine County Children’s Advocacy Center and Multidisciplinary Team to make this a reality. 🤝 For patients who receive these necessary after hours services ATRMC, our team will coordinate closely with the Josephine County CAC so the patient receives a trauma-informed comprehensive evaluation and ongoing services close to home. We are proud to make our PSANE program more accessible in Southern Oregon. Thank you to all who made this expansion possible! ❤️
