We support organizations in their work to advance equity in their culture, business practices, and everyday lives.

About us

The Equity Project is a leading diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) consulting firm that supports organizations in their work to advance equity in their company culture, business practices, and everyday lives. There is great complexity in how we operationalize diversity, inclusion, equality, fairness, and justice strategies in our systems. Oftentimes, the integral piece of equity is left out of the equation, which has led to systemic failure in creating equitable systems. At The Equity Project, we’ve created our own lane in advancing equity to help meet your organization where it’s at, and be your guides as you advance on the ever-evolving journey of DEI. The Equity Project is comprised of an expert team with 30+ years of experience in the DEI space, led by Dr. Nita Mosby Tyler, award-winning keynote speaker and first African American woman to hold the positions of Chief Inclusion Officer for Children’s Hospital Colorado, and Executive Director of the Office of Human Resources for the City and County of Denver.

In a shocking decision, the U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled that cities can ban people from sleeping or camping in public places, even when there's nowhere else to go. This gives a green light to communities across the country to criminalize homelessness: fining, ticketing, or arresting people just for trying to survive. From local ordinances to state laws, the threats to our unhoused neighbors are growing by the day. We can push our elected officials to support solutions that actually work, not just punish those in need. And at the heart of it all is the power of our VOTE – a tool to hold our leaders accountable!

Every. Single. Vote. Matters. According to the CO Secretary of State, in the recent CO primary election, a mere 25.99% of registered voters made their voices heard. That's less than 1 in 4 people! But we can do better; the nation saw its highest turnout in 120 years back in 2020; Colorado had the 4th highest estimated turnout rate at 77.1%! Are you registered & ready to make a difference in the upcoming 2024 election? Check your status via https://lnkd.in/gB-Da3w Remember, your vote is POWER! 🗳️✊🏾

Earlier this week via our #summerseries, Quill & Monica unpacked the generational workforce. For the first time in history, five generations are working together. This diversity brings both challenges & opportunities for employers. Dr. Bea Bourne from Purdue Global shares her expertise on how to navigate these generational differences. Her infographic reveals how each generation handles change, communicates, and adapts (https://shorturl.at/EXOlT). With this insight, managers can build strategies to improve recruitment, orientation, talent management, and retention. It's about more than just avoiding conflict – it's about creating an environment where everyone succeeds.

#BlackMusicAppreciationMonth is an annual celebration that commemorates the valuable contributions of Black musical influences to our country's rich cultural legacy 🎶 Levitt Pavilion Denver recently hosted The Drop 303's 4th Annual Block Party that showcased the realm of classic hip hop & the emerging talent of local artists. The performances by Common and the incredible lineup of CO-based acts, including Nelo + The Block, E.M.E., and the Mile High Tumblers, truly exemplified the profound impact of music and the spirit of unity within our community. Notably, Nelo, who formally co-executive directed, The Kaleidoscope Project (an org. that actively trains + empowers individuals from marginalized backgrounds to advocate for partner orgs within their own communities), continues to expand the reach of his influence in Denver's vibrant creative scene!
