🌟 Kicking Off My Innovation Journey at Samsung SRI B 🌟 I’m thrilled to share that I’ve embarked on a transformative journey at the Innovation Walk, hosted by Samsung Solve For Tomorrow at SRI B. Day one was an eye-opener, filled with learning, creativity, and deep reflection. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Pavan Soni, an Innovation Evangelist whose passion for teaching is truly inspiring, we were introduced to the powerful world of Design Thinking. Dr. Soni’s approach wasn’t just about theory—it was about getting hands-on with real-world challenges and pushing our creative boundaries. What We Explored: - Map Mapping: Understanding how different elements interact within a system. This technique helped us visualize complex problems from a holistic perspective. - Shareholder Mapping: Identifying and analyzing the various stakeholders involved in any given situation. This exercise underscored the importance of considering all voices when designing solutions. Dr. Soni presented us with six impactful themes: 1. Children using excessive mobile phones 📱 2. Waste segregation ♻️ 3. Organizing begging 🤝 4. Women safety in public transport 🚍 5. Child labor 🚸 6. Preference for male child versus female child 👶 I chose to dive into the theme of Preference for Male Child vs. Female Child. This topic hit close to home, as it’s a deeply ingrained societal issue that affects countless lives. Engaging in this exercise reminded me of my days in the Design Thinking Lab, where we were constantly challenged to think beyond the obvious and innovate for real change. The brainstorming session was intense, thought-provoking, and immensely rewarding. Key Learnings: - Empathy is Key: Understanding the root of a problem requires stepping into the shoes of those affected. It’s not just about finding a solution, but about deeply connecting with the issue. - Structured Creativity: Design Thinking isn’t just about creativity; it’s about channeling that creativity through a structured process to achieve meaningful outcomes. - Collaboration and Inclusion: Innovation thrives in diverse environments where different perspectives are valued and integrated. This journey is just beginning, and I’m incredibly excited to see where it leads. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from the best and to work on challenges that have the potential to create a real impact.
