About us
The Insurance Library Association of Boston is a nonprofit organization founded in 1887. It is the country's first, and only remaining, independent library dedicated solely to the subject of insurance, with a unique collection of print and digital material, including hard-to-find policy forms, and insurance artifacts and memorabilia. But we are more than just a library. The Library’s mission is to provide members of the insurance, financial security, risk management, and legal communities, and the public, with high-quality educational programming, opportunities for engagement and networking, and unique research resources and services. The Library’s vision is to be recognized as the preeminent nonprofit provider of such educational programs and other services, build upon our unique position as a hub for networking and engagement, and continue to expand our reach nationally. We offer virtual and in-person education programs, including highly regarded CE-approved webinars, virtual Lunch & Learns, and custom virtual and on-site courses. The Library also offers networking and engagement events to its members and the public, including our Insurance Professional of the Year Award Gala, a biennial Scavenger Hunt, a popular Summer Intern Program for interns of member organizations, a holiday open house, and other events. Our credentialed, experienced research librarian provides excellent research services regarding insurance policy forms and coverages, company and policy history, and topical searches. We receive no public funds. Instead, we depend on membership dues, revenue from our education programs, sponsorships, and, most significantly, our Annual Fund. If you’d like to learn more about the Library, how to become a member, or how to donate to our Annual Fund, please visit us at https:\\www.insurancelibrary.org or reach out to our Executive Director, Michael Pezza, at 617.227.2087, ext. 201, or [email protected].

The Insurance Library reposted this
Just before the July 4th holiday break, The Insurance Library hosted an ice cream social for insurance industry interns. Our summer interns—Will Rickards, Morgan Sullivan, Julian Cangieter-Hernandez, and Mark Paquette—had a great time mingling with other young professionals, enjoying Lizzy’s ice cream, and identifying Andover landmarks from the Historical Sanborn Maps dating back to 1930. #theinsurancelibrary #icecreamsocial #networkingevent #summerinterns #insurancecareers #theandovercompanies

Today the Library presented a webinar on "ESG in Insurance" featuring Bryan Falchuk--a highly regarded speaker, author of "The Future of Insurance" series, and President & CEO of the Property & Liability Resource Bureau--as part of the Library's ESGi Scholars Program, produced with our partners Insure Equality and InnSure. The dozens of attendees included participants in the ESGi Scholars Program and the Library's Summer Program for interns and early career professionals of Library member organizations. Bryan was, as always, informatve, engaging, and thought-provoking.
