Michaels is hosting a job fair for Camden County Residents on Tuesday, August 13th from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Come out and meet our contractors for potential employment opportunities for several projects across Camden County!

Our team had the opportunity to tour Westhaven Park IID, a 96-unit mixed-income multi-family development located on Chicago's Near West Side. This 12-story precast concrete building will offer one- and two-bedroom units. Sixty-six percent of units will be affordable, and the remaining units will be leased at market rate. Apartment features include quartz kitchen countertops, luxury vinyl plank flooring, stainless-steel appliances, and in-unit washers and dryers. The complex will also offer a fitness center, community room, and rooftop terrace. Additionally, the site boasts easy access to the new CTA Green Line station at Lake Street and Damen Avenue. The newly constructed Park Station Lofts is comprised of 58 apartment homes, 41 of which will serve households earning between 30% to 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI), as well as 17 market-rate units in Chicago's Woodlawn neighborhood. Just steps away from the University of Chicago and in close proximity to the upcoming Obama Presidential Library Campus, Park Station is a transit-oriented development, located just 350 feet from the Cottage Grove Station of the CTA Green Line. For our last Urban Land Institute NEXT meeting, we had the incredible opportunity to tour Jordan Downs, a residential development in Watts. The redevelopment project, led by HACLA in collaboration with BRIDGE Housing Corporation and The Michaels Organization is adding 800 new units to the community in addition to rehousing families in 700 new units. Not only will Jordan Downs provide much-needed housing, but it’s also creating job opportunities, childcare facilities, parks, and gathering spaces. The overall plan includes both rental housing and ownership opportunities, a 115,000 square foot neighborhood retail center, and a large community center. Kudos to HACLA for their commitment to revitalizing this historic community while ensuring that no existing residents are displaced.  Thank you, HACLA, for hosting the tour and giving us a glimpse into the future!
