"Imagine what our real neighborhoods would be like if each of us offered, as a matter of course, just one kind word to another person." -Mister Rogers It's no coincidence that Mister Rogers is from Pittsburgh--the same community that gave us such an unbelievable welcome this past weekend. That feeling of love, acceptance, and belonging is so important to all of us, and our friends from the Miracle League of the South Hills gave us that multiplied by a couple thousand! We've never been so excited to see so many Terrible Towels in our lives! Every cheer, every clap, every song from the marching band, every word of encouragement from the cheerleaders, every high five from an umpire or mascot, and every hug...it all mattered. And it reminded all of us that there is so much more that unites us as humans than divides us. We wish that the entire world could see what happened thanks to the generosity of the Greater Pittsburgh community. You all gave us that good feeling that Mister Rogers always talked about, and we will never be able to say thank you enough for showing the world what unparalleled hospitality and love for your neighbors looks like. ❤

Before we “rounded third and headed for home,” we had to make a stop at PNC Park to watch our Cincinnati Reds take on the Pittsburgh Pirates with our friends from the Miracle League of the South Hills! What a beautiful ballpark, and what a perfect day to continue celebrating this weekend’s awesomeness. Special thanks to the Pirates for donating tickets so all of our players, families, volunteers and supporters could attend the game. And a big thank you for allowing our Miracle Series Manager Teddy Kremer to kick off today’s game along with his friend Sidney from the MLSH! Until our next “Pitt Stop,” we send all of our love and appreciation to Sean Casey and all of Pittsburgh for making so many dreams come true!

This is what it looks like to be “all in brother!” Sean Casey and his team at the Miracle League of the South Hills had a vision driven by radical hospitality. They wanted to give our athletes, families, and supporters the biggest, most awesome, fun-filled welcome they possibly could. Their goal was to Pack the Park ina huge way. And just like The Mayor on a Skyline Chili 3-way…they absolutely crushed it. There are few better feelings in the world than to be cheered on by people. It’s a signal of love that can cross any barrier and any division. To roll up to their ballpark and see thousands of people cheering just for us is a moment we will never forget. From buddies who cared to WWE championship belts, from free cotton candy to mechanical bull rides, and from hugs to hat tosses and everything in between…this day could not have been more perfect. And we owe the lifetime of memories that were created to Sean, Tim Gebhart, Lisa Carlisle, and all of the amazing Pittsburghers who made it all happen. Travel baseball is a lot of fun, but it’s more than that. It’s life changing. Its soul renewing. And this could not have been a more perfect trip. ♥️

Look like an all-star = Feel like an all-star! Last night, we all felt like all-stars thanks to the character-driven crew from Headlines Sports. As we gear up for this weekend's trip to Pittsburgh to visit our friends from the Miracle League of the South Hills the wonderful hearts of Headlines Sports were all-in once again, providing fully-customized uniform sets and gear for all of our players, coaches, and volunteers. And WOW are these uniforms jaw-droppers! A program like The Miracle Series just isn't possible at a scale like this without our friends from Headlines. For any of you who have ever worn a jersey with your name on the back, you know the feeling of seeing it for the first time, holding it in your hand, and playing with pride. For many of our athletes, this was the first time they've ever seen their name on the back of a jersey--and it's a feeling that we will never, ever forget.
