Starting Monday, Handlery Union Square Hotel will light up in The Salvation Army’s iconic red and white to support our Ray & Joan Kroc Center in the Tenderloin. Along with this beautiful display, they are generously donating $10,000 to our programs. Join us on July 22nd outside the Handlery Hotel on Geary Street to celebrate our founding in San Francisco with an iconic Salvation Army kettle. “We are so grateful for the continuous support of the Handlery family,” said Captain Arwyn Rodriguera. “Their donation will go a long way in helping the kids, families, and seniors who come to our center.” Together, we can make a difference! #CommunitySupport #TheSalvationArmy #HandleryHotels #GivingBack #SanFrancisco #SummerLights

Spreading Nutrition and Hope with Thess Bar and Salvation Army San Francisco I'm thrilled to be partnering with The Salvation Army San Francisco to share nutrition and hope with the marginalized community. Together, we are distributing Thess Bars, providing not just balanced nutrition but also messages of love and encouragement to those in need and addiction. Here are my partners Andrea and Paul from The Salvation Army, canvassing the neighborhood. In the midst of brokenness, we are committed to giving out love ❤️ and making a tangible difference. But we can't do it alone—we need your help to amplify this impact! Call to Action: Reflect on how you can make a difference in your community. Join us in our mission to spread hope and nutrition by: 1) Donating to our cause: Visit www.thessbar.org 2) Purchasing a case to make your own impact Every donation and purchase helps us reach more people in need. Let's work together to bring light and nourishment to those who need it most. Join us in making an impact! #ThessBar #SalvationArmySF #NutritionForAll #HopeInAction #MakeADifference #CommunitySupport

We all want to help people transition from the streets to stable housing. This has been the mission of the Salvation Army for decades, and the organization remains committed to addressing this long-standing issue. You can play a part in the solution by purchasing a ticket or sponsoring the 20th annual Flower Power event, supporting "The Way Out" program, on August 2. This year, I am incredibly honored to be named "The Woman of Dedication" and would be thrilled to see you at the event!

Today is #NationalDonutDay, and we're celebrating more than just the sweet treat itself. During World War I, volunteers from The #SalvationArmy, also known as the “Donut Lassies,” provided delicious donuts to soldiers on the front lines. Let’s use this day to appreciate the impact of small gestures of kindness and maybe get a little pastry, too. Happy National Donut Day 🍩

National Donut Day has roots going back to World War I but was created in #Chicago as a fundraiser for those in need during the #GreatDepression. Thanks to the generosity of the Donut Lassies and those who continue to serve today, these sprinkle-studded pastries serve as a reminder of selfless acts of kindness. How will you give back this National Donut Day? #SalvationArmy #DonutDay #DonutLassies #WWI

At The Salvation Army San Francisco’s Culinary Training Academy, Chef timothy tucker teaches culinary and life skills to students, many of whom are in recovery. The CTA is an integral part of The Way Out’s Recovery System of Care, teaching people marketable skills so they can get back on their feet. The program not only focuses on culinary expertise but also equips students with the tools needed to be successful in life. Graduates have been employed at notable locations such as Saluhall and Oracle Park, thanks to partnerships with organizations like Project Open Hand and renowned restaurants like Osito and Nopasf. Our students exemplify that recovery and transformation are possible! #addictionrecovery #sanfrancisco

Today we hosted our annual wreath laying ceremony to honor U.S. General John Pershing, who fostered an alliance between The Salvation Army and the United States military during World War I. During the war, General Pershing helped us send Salvation Army lassies to the front lines of WWI to provide emotional and spiritual support to the soldiers fighting in the battles. (Learn more about the lassies here: www.salarmy.us/DonutDay) The Salvation Army honors his memory and service, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to serving veterans and others in need. #GeneralPershing #WreathLaying #WWI #SalvationArmy
