Today, we honor Women’s Equality Day, a time to reflect on the progress we’ve made and the work still needed to achieve gender equality. This day not only marks the anniversary of the 19th Amendment’s ratification, which granted women the right to vote in the United States, but it also is a powerful reminder of the strides women have made and the ongoing efforts required to ensure equality in every aspect of life. So much of the work we do focuses on funding and amplifying climate change solutions created and led by solutionaries of every age, race, and gender. As a creator of the 8 Principles of Green Village Building, Naomi is helping her community increase household income via the green economy. What sets the frontline solutions and strategies of our grantee partners apart is that they address climate change and multiple other social issues simultaneously, which ultimately ensures a greater success rate for their local climate solutions. With increased support and resources, they achieved profound and far-reaching impact in 2023, which included: 🏅 10 major polices and campaign wins on issues including gas and drilling bans, public funding for clean energy, and disaster relief. 💨 Improved air quality and health as a result of reduced pollution for over 5.5 million people. 🌲Over 1.2 million acres of sacred lands protected or retuned to Indigenous stewardship. ⚡️Access to affordable clean energy from major power plants going 100% renewable gained for over 5 million people.
