Large families and high frequency drive a daily to weekly cleaning schedule in order to reduce fire hazards and improve the performance of your toaster. Remember that whether you are cleaning a conventional toaster or toaster oven they should be unplugged before cleaning them. You get extra sustainability points if you manage to compost those crumbs from the toaster. As we transition to that time of year when we start to lose more daylight it is a good time to do something about those lights that get left on when not in use. It might be a good time to put motion sensors on switches that habitually get left on to save you valuable energy dollars and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Basement lights and garage lights can be left on all night if they are not seen from your home floor. These sensors are a small investment for large savings for you and the environment.
