We are so proud of Melissa M., ER RN at Summerlin Hospital, who has been selected as the 2024 Nevada Hospital Association Direct Patient Care Nurse of the Year! In addition to her amazing bedside skills helping patients and families, Melissa also serves as a preceptor for new nurses, assists with process improvement projects, and this fall will serve as a Trauma Nursing Course Instructor (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course Instructor (ENPC). Melissa will receive her award in September during the NHA’s annual awards luncheon in Lake Tahoe! Congratulations and thank you for being such an amazing nurse and colleague! #HealthHappensHere

Congratulations to our VHS Family Medicine faculty for organizing and hosting the Nevada Academy of Family Medicine summer conference last month - Dr. Suba-Cohen, Dr. Zirtath and Dr. Gokal did an amazing job! Kudos, too, to our VHS Family Medicine residents and faculty who participated and took the gold and silver awards for their scholarly poster presentations and as champions of the annual Nevada Family Medicine Residency Jeopardy competition!

Our ER at Blue Diamond team had such a great time meeting some future healthcare professionals with Kamalisha Green and her Junior Docs program! The kids learned about germs, looked through play and real lab microscopes, toured the ER, discovered how CT scanners work, and went home with a goodie bag! Thanks to everyone who attended!
