What is the best leadership advice you’ve ever been given? Create your own personal Board of Directors to enrich your decision-making process and take you to the next level. I was told your Board of Directors should be diverse, supportive, honest, solid leaders and mentors with different skills, backgrounds, and viewpoints that can challenge and provide guidance in your professional growth through different eras of your career. Ask yourself, who is your Board of Directors? What three characteristics do you believe a great leader needs to have? Be authentic, be resilient, and be compassionate.

There’s a sense of camaraderie and pride when you are a Venetian. Having the opportunity to come in every day and work alongside a group who are passionate and truly outstanding at what they do is rewarding – and certainly, my favorite part of being a Venetian. What is your favorite Quote? “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.” – Michael Jordan What leadership advice would you give to emerging leaders? Do your best, trust the process – and be self-aware. People will not remember what you told them, but how you made them feel.

Meet Ariana Gutierrez-Castillo, a dedicated Expeditor in Guest Services who has been with The Venetian Resort for nearly 17 years. Her favorite quote, "Life is not about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain," perfectly captures her positive outlook, even in challenging times. Learn more about Ariana below: What is your proudest career achievement? My proudest career achievement was winning the Bravo Award. It was such a great experience to be celebrated for all the effort and dedication being put into my job. What is a characteristic of yours you are most proud of? The characteristic I am most proud of is being able to communicate with others. I believe communication is key to success in professional and personal relationships.

Kai Shield began his journey at The Venetian Resort as a Front Desk Manager and was one of only three managers hired for the opening of The Palazzo. Today we light up our tower signs in solidarity with individuals and organizations worldwide to observe World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. This day is dedicated to raising awareness about the plight of human trafficking victims and advocating for the protection of their rights.
