This post is long overdue but better late than never! This May, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the 10th World Water Forum in Bali, Indonesia alongside fellow Master's of Environmental Studies (MES) students and 64,000 participants from around the globe. At the conference, I was able to dive into the theme of water financing and learn more deeply about the global water financing gap and solutions to attract finance to the sector. Shameless plug - I wrote a blog about my key takeaways from the forum, which I've linked to this post. In addition, I recently transitioned into a full-time role as a Research Specialist at The Water Center at Penn, where I have been working for the past several months as a Research Fellow. In my role, I am actively learning about water issues and regulations in the United States and helping coordinate our WaterTA (Technical Assistance) program funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Through our WaterTA program, we assist small and disadvantaged water systems to address various water-related challenges, such as lead service lines and PFAS contamination. I am extremely grateful for my supportive and intelligent team; the impactful, hands-on experience I am gaining; and the opportunity to pursue my passion for water issues. I'm thrilled to continue working at The Water Center and establish a career in the water sector.
