August is #NationalWellnessMonth and at The Westin at The Woodlands we have challenged our staff to #ChooseWellness by creating their own month long challenge. Heather, our lobby Starbucks Supervisor, is training for an October tennis tournament. Heather is a positive example to all of our staff because of her commitment and dedication to her workouts. She arrives at work straight from the tennis court. She showers and changes here at the hotel. Heather said for Wellness Month she’s focusing on her hydration and endurance. She said being consistent with her hydration during and after practice are so important especially because the Texas summer heat zaps her stamina and energy. She is specifically focusing on her electrolytes during practice. Her favorite post workout recovery drink is a milk smoothie (which includes strawberries and spinach)🥛 What are your wellness goals this month? #Wellness is the deliberate pursuit of making choices that lead to healthier lifestyle habits. This month in honor of #NationalWellnessMonth, the staff at the Woodlands Hotels are being challenged to #ChooseWellness. Our Senior Assistant Director of Finance, Maria Victoria Balda, has big running goals—She registered to run in her first 10-mile race this fall! Vicky has slowly been pursuing this goal first by running 5k races…then her first 5-miler over the 4th of July. Her training schedule for her upcoming race officially began this morning at our staff and community Westin Wellness Run event!!!
