We are thrilled to announce the successful implantation of our first WATCHMAN FLX PRO device! AFib no longer means a lifetime of blood thinners. The WATCHMAN Implant is a safe, minimally invasive, one-time solution that reduces stroke risk without the need for lifelong anticoagulants for certain patients. This device is ideal for AFib patients who cannot stay on anticoagulant meds like Coumadin due to risks such as falls or unstable lab results. We are proud of our dedicated team for making this milestone possible. Medication nonadherence leads to approximately half of all treatment failures, 125,000 deaths, and a quarter of hospitalizations annually in the U.S. Taking medications as prescribed can significantly improve patient outcomes. Unfortunately, of the 3.8 billion prescriptions written each year, it's estimated that one-fifth are never filled. High medication costs and difficulties accessing pharmacies are common barriers. To support patients in filling their prescriptions and improving adherence, ThedaCare launched a retail pharmacy and began delivering discharge medications directly to patients at their bedside. As a result, 60-90% of hospitalized patients now fill their prescriptions before leaving the hospital. The retail pharmacy initiative also significantly increased the value of the 340B Drug Pricing Program in its first year, saving ThedaCare millions of dollars. Epic and ThedaCare share their success story in this detailed article: https://lnkd.in/g3aqkK6P.

Those who pass by the site of a new health campus in Oshkosh will notice a great deal of action. The combined health system of Froedtert ThedaCare Health, Inc. broke ground on the health campus in March 2024. The campus aims to expand convenient access to care for those living in Northeast and Central Wisconsin. “It is encouraging to see the positive progress taking place at the Oshkosh campus,” said Jennifer Nikolai, vice president of new Community Hospitals in Fond du Lac and Oshkosh. “By creating this campus, we can continue improving the health of those living in the area by offering convenient care to more of our communities.” The campus is located at 250 W. 6th Avenue on the Fox River in downtown Oshkosh. For decades, the site was vacant due to soil conditions. Teams worked with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to learn more about this specific site in Oshkosh along the river. Read on to see what structural elements were included and plans for the health campus' future. Since the groundbreaking, construction partners including Hplex Solutions as the owner representative; HGA as the architect and engineer; Miron Construction Co., Inc. as the construction manager; and the SIGMA Group as the civil engineer and landscape architect, have been actively working at the site.
