The Excel Center® is Kentucky’s one-of-a-kind, tuition-free high school that will give adults 18 years or older a second chance to earn a diploma and workforce certifications. Scheduled to open in fall 2022, The Center will feature flexible eight-week class schedules, free on-site childcare, transportation assistance, career counselors who help graduates transition into college or meaningful careers – and more.

This past Friday was a very special day for our Excel Center! We hosted our first alumni event to connect with 2023 graduates and unveil their class photos. 🤩 Goodwill President and CEO Amy Luttrell and Excel Center Director Dr. Marsha Berry spoke at the event, and many graduates even became official Goodwill ambassadors.
Our students participated in a cooking class held at The Salvation Army and tested out the skills they learned through their ServSafe Food Handler certification. They made chicken tikka masala (or chicken curry if they were feeling spicy!) and chai apple sauce muffins. The Salvation Army also hooked our students up with food boxes and frozen goods that will help stock their pantries! We greatly appreciate this partnership!
Last week, our students put their certified food handler skills to the test as they made fettuccine alfredo and cannoli.
