Attended day 1 of #PlatoElevate, and I was so grateful to attend this talk hosted by The New Club. Being around so many female engineering leaders was inspiring! Thank you, Mikaela Ann Smith for sharing your knowledge about diversity, balancing motherhood with career, and so much more.

Last week, Craft hosted its second #HackAIthon – this year we focused on AI Agents. 100 hackers descended on SF and spent 2 days hacking and building extraordinarily creative and functionally impressive agents. 🏆 Grand Prize went to Piergiuseppe Mallozzi who built #CloudShield, which leverages the power of LLM agents to autonomously find cybersecurity vulnerabilities dynamically and suggests ways to patch them. This was built using crewAI. Our two Runners Up were: 🥈 #Weave, by Girri M Palaniyapan and Muthhukumar Malaiiyyappan, an AI-powered content consultant that transforms rough ideas into polished, publishable content across various formats in minutes. 🥈 #Astra, by Eunice Tan, Mingjun Lim, Mingyi Lim, and Alvin Ryanputra, an autonomous, promptless AI secretary that helps friends coordinate group activities. Always wanted to experiment with building an embded ai agent that could determine when it runs rather than have the user trigger it. So we built Astra, an AI agent that lives in your group chat and helps you manage group reservations. https://lnkd.in/dHq6n4-p Had lots of fun building and also watching all the cool agents being built by others 🤖 But honestly the most fun part was reading Astra's thoughts while it was monitoring our group chat. 🫢 "AgentThought: Alvin's message seems confrontational. ✨ We had a great time partnering with our friends from Craft Ventures on their #HackAIthon last week. This 2-day event brought together some of the top devs, engineers, coders, and hackers to focus on building AI agents. 🏆 Plus, The New Club member Eunice Tan and her team won 2nd place for building Astra, an AI agent that lives in your group chat and helps you make group reservations. 📱 Astra gathers context from the group messages and decides when to chime in, prompting group members for more information, making online reservations, calling restaurants to request reservations, and more! ✨ What a fantastic time at Plato Elevate Conference for Engineer Leaders last week! The event was filled with inspiring talks from industry-leaders at Coda, Stripe, DoorDash, GitLab, HackerRank, and more. We also loved meeting everyone, leading our workshop, and hosting a lounge for Women and Allies at the conference. 🎤 A big thank you to everyone that stopped by our workshop on Building High-Functioning Organizations within Growth Companies: The Importance of Diversity. Our fireside chat was led by Dominique Huang and Mikaela Ann Smith, expert on hiring and retaining diverse teams, and growing your own career as an Engineering Leader. The New Club summit last weekend for me was a day of connection, inspiration and fun! My top takeaways to share with y’all- 1. Be a part of community that propels you forward. I am so grateful to be part of this community of investors, entrepreneurs and technologists navigating the long term career journey with a conviction in the idea of change. 2. One of my fav quotes - Strategy without execution is just Hallucination. There are remarkable opportunities with complex problems to be solved around us with tech; be it in the food sector, transportation and emissions, fraud detection, infrastructure and consumer high growth areas.  3. Find your Ikigai. What are you uniquely positioned to do? Take control and design your life and define what success looks like for you. Play chess and wonder with tech and life :)
