Our Wardrobe in Kennett Square recently hosted an group from The Garage Community and Youth Center! This group is part of The Garage Career Compass Program for Youth, which provides a summer-long paid internship funded by The Garage. The Wardrobe helped the students find professional attire and scrubs to be worn in their internships. We know how important it is to have the support of your peers so we love being able to provide group shopping opportunities like these! Best of luck to the students and we're so glad to work with The Garage Community and Youth Center as a community partner!

About us
The Wardrobe is a nonprofit organization with the mission to eliminate clothing insecurity and curb fashion waste while empowering people for success. Because our supporters give and shop, 6,000 people annually leave The Wardrobe shining full of confidence in their new outfits. This year we are growing as we integrate Wings for Success in Chester County into our organization in order to expand education and coaching services throughout the region. Whether someone is in need of an outfit for work or everyday life or coaching to help them build their career, they receive free support and STAR Treatment - Styling, Time, Advice, and Respect. Our Wardrobes in Philadelphia, Delaware, and Chester Counties provide a sustainable shopping experience for our supporters who share the sales floor with our participants while they select their outfits at no charge. For those outside our area, we offer the Wardrobe Box both as a seasonal subscription box similar to Stitch Fix for shoppers or personally styled for free for participants. Each year we "upcycle" 200,000+ pounds of gently used or new clothing to provide a stable source of free quality clothing for our participant's needs whether it's workwear for a job search and employment or casual clothing for everyday. Every article of clothing donated to The Wardrobe is ethically repurposed for free guest services, resale inventory, or recycled with our partner Helpsy.

Last week's Reentry Open Wardrobe provided a safe and supportive environment for current or formerly justice involved individuals to receive clothes, resources, and other basic essentials. This day took place at all four Wardrobe sites and everything was free for our participants! Special thank you to our resource providers for making our Open Wardrobe Day a big success: Impact Services, Achieving Reunification Center, Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity, and Soyica W. of The Soyica Experience.

The Wardrobe reposted this
Sixty years ago today, The Civil Rights Act, one of the most significant pieces of civil rights legislation in history, was passed. The law prohibited discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. As we get ready to celebrate July 4th this week, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on our past and the work that still needs to be done. We are proud to pick up where Cradles to Crayons’ services end. The fastest growing population for The Wardrobe are youth and young adults. We partner with high schools, educational nonprofits and colleges to ensure that they have the clothing they need to go to school or start work.
We love this piece in Nonprofit Quarterly that discusses the Child Clothing Crisis across the country and highlights Cradles to Crayons as a leader in addressing this issue. Check out the article to learn more about how you can support our mission and get involved in the conversation around Clothing Insecurity! https://hubs.li/Q02C7Hw40

Thanks to everyone who donated clothing to support our program. Please consider a $25 or $50 gift to help us reach more women like Monica!
Last week The Wardrobe celebrated our participants and services with our annual VIP Party. People like Monica who is an immigrant worker from southern Chester County who found in us a second family away from home in Mexico. She credits The Wardrobe’s Chester County location with making her feel accepted and welcomed so that she could succeed. Unfortunately we are a little shy of our goal. Please consider a donation to help us meet our fundraising goal and continue to say YES to everyone who needs clothing to support their growth! https://lnkd.in/ecUEA2DG

Thanks to the Mainline Chamber, Society of Professional Women and Comcast for supporting our work!
Over 120 attendees joined the Society of Professional Women (SPW) for a Trademark event this afternoon with Tami Palmer on “Communicating with Intent: Your Words, Your Outcomes" at The Radnor Hotel's hottest new venue, the Triple Crown. Today's presentation empowered attendees to have authentic clear conversations to limit the apologizing, avoid making false assumptions, stop oversharing with distracting backstory and replace wishes with clear asks to increase awareness, of how and what they communicate, to gain credibility and get results. Special thanks to Champion Sponsor Firstrust Bank for providing Tami's book, "The Greyzone: Insights on Leading Your Career with Intention," to all in attendance. Our featured nonprofit today, The Wardrobe, was gifted a $1,000 donation from Communications Sponsor Comcast Business. #mlcc #spwmainline #communications #communicating #intent #results Pictured: Lisa Harmon Sheri C.
