July is National #MinorityMentalHealthAwarenessMonth, bringing focus to the unique needs and challenges for racial and ethnic minority populations. While mental health is universal, and does not discriminate, treatment and recovery should be individualized. This is built into the foundation of Thresholds’ service model, tailoring care to each client as needed. Finding the right healthcare provider for you can be a difficult feat. Thank you to Chicago Sister Cities International for making Thresholds one of the stops on your site visits across the city! We were so proud to be chosen as a host of more than 40 international delegates from eight of Chicago's sister cities as they traveled around to learn about various social service practices. Over the course of these visits, these international delegates were able to learn how Chicago addresses social challenges including trauma-informed care, expanding mental health supports, how to support the social service workforce, and how to be inclusive in this work.

Founded in 1976, the Thresholds Mothers Project provides comprehensive assistance to mothers with mental health challenges and their children. Each year, Race Against Hate, the largest social justice run/walk event of its kind in the nation, brings together thousands of people from all over Chicagoland and the country to run and walk in unity against racial hatred and violence. The Thresholds JEDIs (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) have been proud participants in this event for many years. Thresholds' President & CEO Mark Ishaug participated in a panel hosted by The Chicago School on Workplace Wellness, alongside their own Michele Nealon, Psy.D., discussing challenges nonprofit organizations face and how they work to create healthy, happy work environments for their employees and the communities those agencies serve. #TBT to the BUILD Chicago peace march and community pop-up event. To raise awareness and call to end gun violence, Chicago's West Side neighborhoods came together to send a powerful message of peace on our streets. Thresholds' Community Engagement and Equity staff were proud to join our community, echoing the call to end gun violence.
