Day of the Dead skull, fundraising t-shirt design. I'm familiar with the feast day and its significance, but I don't know much about how the skulls are traditionally sculpted or decorated. Cultural accuracy wasn't really a concern here, but I did want the design to feel somewhat authentic and believable. Is this a hit or a miss? Tell me why in the comments.

Great News: Pizzeria Moto has been returned to its original owner and founder, Jay Clement. When the company launched back in 2011, Jay hired an unknown designer named TJ Barranger to create the original Pizzeria Moto logo. The business eventually changed hands (and branding), but continued to provide gourmet wood-fired pizza and culinary delicacies at events throughout Virginia. Congratulations to Jay for revisiting his vision and passion. Branded gear is all about getting your name "out there." Out where, exactly? Putting your business name in front of the right audience takes a lot of effort, and a little luck. This summer rental logotype is recognizable to the locals along the Jersey shore, but the business is really targeted towards visitors and vacationers. Does that mean this cap wouldn't make a good gift for locals? Not necessarily. It's a great gift for permanent residents who don't rent space. And while visitors who see it will already have their space for this season, it can certainly spark conversation about their travel plans for next summer. A brief glimpse into how I turn a concept sketch into a digital illustration using Inkscape. My drawing skills leave a lot to be desired, but I sketch quickly, just to visualize the idea and create a rough blueprint to follow. The software allows me to create perfect circles and other symmetrical elements. But perfect is boring snd unnatural. I use combinations of shapes, curves, and freehand lines to form the overall structure of the drawing.
