Our mission is to employ underprivileged youth and develop a new innovative educational system that delivers economic opportunity to impoverished communities. Our vision is to create a global social entrepreneurial network that drives systems of economic opportunity transforming impoverished communities into healthy communities. The TMT Youth Community Foundation operates to teach underprivileged youth entrepreneur skills. The primary focus of this organization is to provide disadvantaged youth with the tools of job creation. Through our TMT Mentees and our TMT Community Network our participants will create high skill careers as well as high wage and high demand careers in North Carolina and our global economy. TMT Mentee Internship Programs offers students the opportunity to combine academic studies with on-the-job training and experience while completing their education. The TMT Mentee Internship Program is a part-time, 20-week program where talented and motivated undergraduate students will get first-hand experience working for the TMT Youth Community Foundation. Interns will be exposed to the many facets of television production, teaching as a profession, event marketing and entrepreneurship. TMT Mentees that progress into our 40 week program, will have access to leaders in the community who share similar interests and serve as a thought partner throughout their job search process after graduation. TMT Mentees will also have exposure and networking opportunities with the multiple TMT Community Network members. Through cooperation and partnerships, resources are maximized, and communities are enriched. The TMT Community Network is comprised of TMT Partners working together in a community collaborative that work to strengthen communities. The TMT Community Network is comprised of sponsors and members working to create initiatives that create a more healthy community for children living in economically deprived areas. Our initiatives work to strengthen social networks, provide economic opportunities, examine and monitor environmental health, and strive to identify and develop community leaders. The TMT Community Network uses an asset-based community development approach to create sustainable development in communities based on their physical assets and local institutions. THE TMT YOUTH COMMUNITY FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2002 AND IS A PRIVATE NON-PROFIT FOUNDATION THAT FOCUSES ON ACCESSING, DEVELOPING, AND GROWING THE TALENTS OF THE YOUTH ENROLLED IN OUR ORGANIZATION. The TMT Youth Community Foundation operates to empower "at risk" children. The primary focus of this organization is to provide disadvantaged youth with jobs. Mandate: "To improve the social-economical status of children living in deprived economic conditions"; Our mandate is achieved by offering youth employment and by developing marketable job skills of the youth entering the program. Values: "Changing our children, Changing our future"; In everyting we do; we will act with caring, compassion, and determination to improve the quality and standard of living for children in deprived economic conditions. Vision: "Changing Perspectives"; The TMT Youth Community Foundation will change the way you think about "inner city at risk youth" by training and employing children so that they may become successful citizens in the communities from which they were birth.
