A month ago, I asked you all for help. I got a lot of looks and likes, but no responses. So I contacted some friends and colleagues the good, old fashioned way - on email and by telephone. In our search, I discovered that TOBIN is conducting much broader and deeper background checks than many of our competitors do when we launch an offering for a client, whether as a Managing Broker-Dealer or a Sell-Side Investment Bank. I have observed through FINRA AWCs that our regulator requires the level of conduct that TOBIN follows. But, unfortunately, I didn't find that level of compliance nor a valid a solution through our worthy competitors whom I contacted. But my friends, colleagues and clients, David Jordan and Robert Reddick at Tauxbe Data, lead us to the perfect solution. They could do this because they serve this data industry, themselves, with their innovation products and services. I am so grateful to you two! With Tauxbe's help, TOBIN selected IDI (a red violet company) as our new background check vendor. Nicholas Tornabene, MBA brought us the right solution after we spoke to a couple of departments at the company. We have tested the product and it meets TOBIN's needs and expectations in a cost effective and sound manner. If you'd like to know more about our search process or about the product, or would like an introduction to Nick, I'd be delighted to help. All of us broker-dealers and investment bankers need to stick together. I am a big believer in sharing success stories with my business community if that leads us to keep the regulators at bay and our investors (and clients) safe. I feel that TOBIN broke new ground in finding this solution that allows us to have the highest due diligence standards in our industry these days.
