Mike Howard Lane was unveiled last week in Prosper, named in tribute to Prosper's very own Mike Howard. Replacing Cook Lane, this street stands as a testament to Mike’s commitment to public service. Mike’s remarkable journey began in 1952 when he quickly rose to become a police chief by age 30 and served in the Secret Service during the President Kennedy assassination. His dedication and leadership have left a lasting mark on our community. Prosper Mayor Bristol and Police Chief Doug Kolwalski joined to celebrate and commemorate Mike’s decades of service, ensuring his legacy will be forever etched in Prosper. Thank you, Mike, for your incredible contributions to Prosper and law enforcement.

It’s Town Hall Selfie Day! While many celebrate #CityHallSelfieDay, we put our own spin on it here in Prosper! This national tradition, started by ELGL: Engaging Local Government Leaders in 2016, is all about celebrating the dedication of public servants and highlighting the essential work of local governments in our communities. It has since become a favorite event for cities and towns alike to show off their community pride.

It’s time to go for gold in back to school safety! As we gear up for the new school year, keep these key tips in mind to ensure you win gold this year! Make sure to always stop on all sides when a school bus has its stop sign out for pedestrians entering and exiting the bus. Follow the school zone speed limit of 20 mph to create a safe environment when flashing lights are on or during designated school zone times, and stay focused by avoiding mobile devices while driving. Protect your child’s privacy by covering sensitive information in photos shared on social media and keeping the original for personal use. Learn more about back to school safety on the Prosper ISD website at https://lnkd.in/ershh-ND. Help make this school year the safest one yet!
