Nothing beats the summer heat like a fun Hawaiian themed luau! 🍍 Participants decorated tiki masks, created sand art, and ate a variety of fruit kabobs, smoothies, and virgin pina coladas. 🍍

Employing & empowering individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment, for more than 50 years.
About us
TVS is a social enterprise dedicated to the employment & empowerment of individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Our Manufacturing & Packaging business unit specializes in the blending and packaging of dry food and beverage products and dietary supplements. Our Programs & Services business unit offers day and residential programs for adults with disabilities, as well as offers employment evaluation/training/placement to individuals in various stages of vocational rehabilitation. Founded in 1967, our mission is to provide quality employment, job training and residential & community services to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment. In support of this, TVS established a food manufacturing facility in 2001 to offer a consistent source of job opportunities. Since then, TVS has produced more than 200 million pounds of dry food and beverage products for the U.S. government alone and has served dozens of commercial customers in the food and dietary supplements industries. The support services arm of TVS helps adults with disabilities find and retain meaningful employment, within and outside of TVS, and positively engage with the community. TVS employs 150 people at its 65,000 sq. ft. facility in Brevard, where it earned the Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce’s 2016 Business of the Year award. Our Employee Spotlight shines light on TVS Residential DSP Carolyn Trapp! She recently celebrated her 15th anniversary at TVS! Carolyn has worked as the different DSP positions over the years, including the Resident Manager of both group homes. She is credited for fostering the bond between the homes. Carolyn organized BBQs, picnics, and hangouts that are still a favorite pastime among the residents. 🎉Thank you, Carolyn for 15 years of dedicated work. We hope for 15 more! I have made close friends with those who work here, and this job has kept me young. It has broadened my horizons and got me out and into the community more than I would have been otherwise."

In honor of #NationalDisabilityPride Month, we are highlighting TVS Production Manager Brian Wilson for his NCSE Management Excellence Award. He accepted his award at the recent SourceAmerica #XForce Conference in May 2024 for his contributions to providing an inclusive work environment for individuals with disabilities. Wilson says it best in his acceptance speech, “There are very few times in life where you are where you’re supposed to be and you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing, and this is that time for me. The mission that we serve, the people that we serve – they don’t work for me, I work for them.” Read the more here: https://lnkd.in/dii_i4ev

Thrilled to share a great day on Capitol Hill with Melwood’s friends at ACHIEVE Human Services, Inc.! We had an impactful and busy day visiting with Congressional staff, sharing our work to empower people with disabilities, introducing the Alliance for Expanding America's Workforce, and advocating for the AbilityOne Program modernization and expansion. We were especially pleased to meet with Congressman Juan Ciscomani, a dedicated parent, AbilityOne champion, and downright great member of Congress.
