Treasures 4 Teachers provides a truly unique resource for educators and students in Arizona. We actively seek out and collect unwanted, but reusable, materials throughout our community and make them available to teachers at very low or no-cost. These materials come from various sources: manufacturers, businesses, teachers, schools, other non-profit agencies, and private donations. For a nominal $35.00 per year, less than $3.00 a month, educators can have access to a huge selection of classroom materials from low cost to absolutely free. Teachers will find everything from books, school supplies, and classroom décor, to binders, paper tubes, magazines and a variety of creative reuse materials. In addition, a T4T membership includes monthly Teacher Appreciation giveaways. Treasures 4 Teachers is looking for passionate Board Members. Our mission is to provide free and low cost supplies from the community's reusable resources. If you are passionate about education and sustainability, we just might be the place you would like to serve. Board of Directors Organization: Treasures 4 Teachers Location: Tempe, Arizona Position category: Board Member Positions Type of nonprofit: Education Are board members paid? No Treasures 4 Teachers, an Arizona not-for-profit corporation ("T4T"), is looking to recruit several new board members. T4T's mission involves providing low cost and free school supplies to teachers across Arizona while providing a second life to materials that would otherwise be headed to the landfill. T4T runs two membership-based school supply stores in Maricopa County which offer school supply standards and office products as well as other useful materials for classroom projects, decorations, storage, and experiments. The T4T location in Tempe also offers a thrift store, which is open to the general public.  T4T is looking for energetic and creative directors who are eager to contribute to our working Board of Directors. The T4T Board meets every other month and Board members are expected to participate in a working committee meeting on the off months. Board meetings take place on Wednesday evenings and committee meeting times and dates vary by committee.  In addition to opportunities to serve on the Board of Directors, T4T may consider opportunities to individuals who want to work on committees without taking on the responsibilities of full Board membership. Qualifications T4T is especially interested in meeting prospective board members who: Currently teach public school in Maricopa County in a traditional classroom setting; Who have a financial background and the interest and ability to take on the role of Board treasurer in the near future; or Who have education and experience in sustainability and can help T4T improve its marketing in the sustainability space. Since so many teachers are coming into our stores to purchase items for their classrooms, we have started running low on essential items that our Arizona teachers need.
