It has been lights, camera, action all week at Treetops📸⛳ With our courses looking this good we decided to bring in the professionals to help us capture some of Treetops' most spectacular views. Photographer Brian Walters spent two days on-site and did three different shoots with 9 different models. Brian made sure to get all the angles. We had more than a few picture-perfect moments come out of this week and are excited to see the results. Crisp and clean. It's a core value of ours here at Treetops and it is at the heart of everything we do. Our dedicated grounds team has been hard at work all Spring, repainting signs, trimming trees, and making sure every last detail is perfect. Just last week our team planted fresh flower beds across our property. A vibrant and eye-catching addition to our resort. Day to day these may seem like small changes, details that might get overlooked by those passing through. But when you put all of their efforts together the impact is profound. At Treetops Resort, we are a community dedicated to growth—both as a team and as individuals. Last month, our Turf Equipment Manager, Mark Lauret , achieved a significant milestone by completing the Level 1 and Level 2 Equipment Management Certification Program from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America GCSAA  This prestigious certification demands significant dedication and requires the passing of eight rigorous exams. Earlier this year, we were proud to have several of our employees participate in our first response training program. These team members committed their time and effort to earn their CPR and AED certifications. This comprehensive training equips them with essential life-saving skills, ensuring they are prepared to respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations. In April, members of our marketing and reservations team, Amy Martella and Jordan Peck flew to Miami for the Revinate Conference. There, they further educated themselves on the hospitality industry, discovered new trends and technology, and expanded their networks. Numerous members of our community have learned new skill sets, taken courses, attended conferences, and sought out opportunities for growth and development. You have probably heard us say it before, at Treetops Resort we make memories that last a lifetime. But what does that really mean? We spoke to a foursome in passing last weekend on our Signature course. They told us "Everyone you'll see for the next three holes is all part of our crew." They were a group of 16 that had come all the way from Iowa to celebrate a Bachelor party. An ambitious group that was determined to play all 81 of our holes over the course of their long weekend. When asked if they were having a good time, the best man told us "This has been unbelievable. We all have been friends forever but it is so hard these days to get time with all of us together like this." The bachelor told us upon leaving, "Thank you. Our group had a blast! We cannot wait to come back." On an average weekend we send out around 2,500 groups of golfers. Each group that passes through our clubhouse comes with their own history and leaves with new stories to share. Whether it is lifelong friends celebrating an engagement, father and son duos looking for quality time together, or a group that is on their 20th annual trip to Treetops; we are so grateful to be a place where people come together to celebrate special life moments like these. Last night marked the start of our much-anticipated Employee Golf League, and what an incredible evening it was! We are known as Michigan's most spectacular resort, but we wanted to know what we could do to be even more spectacular. We are always seeking out ways to improve ourselves and our resort. Here is an update of all the work we have done during our off season to make this year even more spectacular for our guests. GOLF ⛳ Our golf team has been busy this winter renovating our North Pro Shop, giving it a brand new look. We have also partnered with Under Armour this year creating a new line of updated gear and merchandise. This makes us one of only three resorts in the state to partner with the Under Armour brand. Our improvements are not limited to inside the pro shop. Out on the courses our Maintenance teams have been working all winter to improve our greens. The Fazio Premier course has been updated this year in order to return it to the original vision Tom Fazio had back in 1992. LODGING 🛏️ We have received rave reviews about our Jones Cottages from golfers last season, so we have decided to add two more. These luxury cottages sleep 10+ guests with comfortable living spaces, a newly renovated kitchen, outdoor sitting areas, and more. Both cottages will be available starting in June of this year. FOOD & BEVERAGE 🍴 The Sports Bar has become known around town for its pizza. Naturally, our food and beverage team has decided to crank up the heat with a brand-new pizza oven and several new specialty pizzas to match. In addition, Legends on the Hill has received renovations over the Spring to further evelate its clean and cozy aesthetic. Here at Treetops, we don't settle for spectacular. It was a spectacular morning here at Treetops Resort yesterday. Not only was it opening day for golfers at the resort, but we also had the pleasure of hosting Madison Stoddard from Up North Live. She chatted with our Director of Recreation Doug Hoeh and our Director of Recreation Maintenance Tim Matty. We shared insights into what is new this year at Treetops, the work that went into opening our courses, as well as the fun events we have coming up. We watched as our first group of the season teed off on the Fazio Premier, marking the official start of our golf season here at Treetops. In honor of our courses opening next week, we thought we would take a moment to recognize the efforts of our dedicated course maintenance team and all they do to make Treetops courses' so spectacular. Here is a behind-the-scenes look into their 4-week 3-step opening process: 1. Infrastructure Activation: First on the list is testing and repairing our extensive irrigation system. Our courses are comprised of over 5,000 sprinkler heads and our team checks every single one. They inspect every aspect of our complex irrigation system from pump stations to satellite controls, and more. 2. Prepping the Playing Surfaces: Once the snow has melted there are 400+ acres that need to be prepared. This process includes clearing debris, mowing, hand inspecting all 300+ bunkers, and more. A highlight of every season is the first cut, done before the grass begins growing this removes brown tips known as "winter sustenance" and reveals the healthy green turf below. Our team is extremely meticulous with blade length and ensuring green speeds. Mowing adjustments can be made in increments as small as 0.01". 3. Course Accessories: Every detail matters! From course signage to tee markers, all course accessories are refurbished and strategically placed to enhance the golfing experience. This is the final step before welcoming golfers to our courses each year. Treetops doesn't just become Michigan's most spectacular golf overnight. It takes a team of 55 dedicated and well-versed individuals to maintain these courses and create a golf destination as special as Treetops.
