Our final Auxiliary 'Unsung Hero' this week is Lynn Paine. With over 20 years of service in the Auxiliary, Lynn is a wonderful ambassador for TCMC. Over the years, she has worked with local High School students, our Board of Directors and in TCMC's Gift Shop. Most often, you'll find Lynn doing what she loves best - assisting visitors at the Information Desk. Thank you for giving SO much to SO many, Lynn!

Our third Auxiliary 'Unsung Hero' this week is Michael Unverferth. Michael is in charge of orientation for new volunteers. He also keeps meticulous records for the Auxiliary and works endless hours to keep our new volunteers and chairpersons updated on important information in a timely manner. With over 10 years of service, keeping by-laws and policies and procedures up to date, Michael truly is an amazing asset to the Auxiliary and our hospital.

Our next Auxiliary 'Unsung Hero' has served over 30 years as a volunteer with the Auxiliary! Don Dupuis is one of the friendly faces at Registration who helps escort patients to various departments in the hospital. He loves volunteering at TCMC and often works three or more shifts per week. He is well known for his terrific sense of humor - and yummy coffee candy that he always has in his pocket - throughout the hospital. Thank you for your care and service, Don!

Tri-City Hospital Auxiliary recently held its first 'Unsung Hero' Award ceremony this year. These volunteers who serve our hospital with compassion, perseverance, conviction and selflessness. We'd like to introduce several of them this week. Our first Auxiliary Unsung Hero is Rosalind Bussey. Referred to as 'The Energizer Bunny' Rosalind brings her enthusiasm and 'can do' spirit to our Info Desk. She is often the first person patient's family and friends meet when they come for a visit in the hospital. Thank you Rosalind for 10 years of service at TCMC!

"I was in the ER and I could not have been treated any better from the time I walked in until I left. "Everyone from Security at Check In, Administration, ER assistant, ER nurse, and last but not least, the ER doctor were above and beyond professional, caring and (I was treated with) the utmost respect. "I feel SO blessed to have them in our area." PH, San Diego 5-Star Google Review

Recently, our Tri-City Hospital Auxiliary presented a gift of $45,000 to the Tri-City Hospital Foundation. The Foundation supports programs, services and capital needs for our hospital so we can continue to provide top-quality medical care for our community. These funds were generated from proceeds made by Tri-City Medical Center's Gift Shop, located in the main lobby of the hospital. Our Gift Shop is run and staffed exclusively by Auxiliary volunteers. Auxiliary President Bunny McElliot (left) and Gift Shop Manager Carol Vance (right) were pleased to present Foundation President Jennifer Paroly (center) with the check at the Auxiliary's Annual Meeting. Meet Adrienne Mathieu, RN... she's one of the exceptional new nursing graduates (she's from CSU San Marcos) that TCMC has hired in the past several months, who is making a huge difference in patient care. Recently, Adrienne was able to perform hands-only CPR to revive a patient in cardiac arrest who collapsed on the floor she works on at the hospital. Dr. Eric Barco and Charge Nurse Anna South, RN (pictured here) who were on the scene within moments, complimented Adrienne on how she handled this life or death situation as a new nurse graduate. Adrienne, who lives just 8 minutes away from the hospital, says she came to TCMC because she realized what a great opportunity it was for her to grow as a new nurse here at her community hospital. "The staff at TCMC is seriously THE BEST," says Adrienne. "We're like a little family here (on my floor at the hospital)."
