  • Earlier this week, TriStar Horizon’s Inpatient Rehab team gathered to celebrate and recognize Barbara, a rehab patient who was heading home after spending a couple weeks in our unit. Barbara is a retired rehab RN, so she is very familiar with what’s involved for the patient care journey in rehab. She was incredible complimentary of all the therapists, nurses and physicians who cared for her. She shared, “The unit is incredible with attentive and knowledgeable therapists. All my concerns were addressed, including Dr. Malave taking time to answer all my questions. I received hugs from the nurses and felt everyone went above and beyond. My food was great and Mildred in EVS was so attentive. It is such a warm environment like home.” We appreciate the opportunity to provide compassionate care to Barbara and feel so fortunate to have exceptional colleagues who make that possible! #CareLikeFamily

  • At TriStar Horizon, we strive to connect with each patient and ensure they are cared for like family. We love moments that bring Care Like Family to life. Meet Seth and Courtney, newlywed nurses at TriStar Horizon! “Working at the same hospital as our spouse is really cool! We can share each other’s experiences. It’s also helpful to have someone who understands what it’s like to be in our shoes.” The two met at a local skilled nursing facility in 2018 and eventually decided to transfer to our hospital as Nurse Externs to gain better nursing experience. Seth attended Union University and recently passed the nursing exam; he’s now a registered nurse working on our Progressive Care Unit. Courtney will graduate from Austin Peay in December. She is a nurse extern on our medical surgical unit and other units across the hospital. When asked what they love most about being a nurse at TriStar Horizon, the couple shared: *Seth - “If I just have one small impact on someone’s day, it is a good day to me! Being a nurse allows me to be at the forefront of their medical journey and their day to day one! I am thankful to be in the position that I am in, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world!” *Courtney - “I enjoy being able to interact with all kinds of people and impacting their day even in the smallest ways, whether that’s making them smile or being someone they can talk to. I love witnessing patients get healthier and hopefully be able to go home. It also helps that I am surrounded by such a good team of coworkers willing to help with anything.” We are so grateful for Seth and Courtney and their commitment to providing compassionate care to our patients. Join us in congratulating these newlyweds! #CareLikeFamily #NewlywedNurses

  • Please join us in congratulating Gina Bullington, our Chief Nursing Officer, on 45 years of service at TriStar Horizon this week! ✨ A few leaders from our hospital and TriStar Division, board members and family members gathered to *surprise* and celebrate Gina for this monumental milestone. 🎉 She has raised a family in Dickson and served with heart, compassion, commitment, and integrity. Through time on the front lines in the emergency department to leadership roles in the Emergency Department and ultimately as Chief Nursing Officer, she has been instrumental in our history and success.
